CU players in the NFL

I mean sure. Seems like a lowball offer and at 1 year. Seems he didn’t have much of a market. I guess he is betting on himself

Only one guaranteed and that’s a crowded backfield. I thought he was gonna have a bigger market.

Anyone seen any mock drafts with Will Sherman? Poked around a couple and both had him undrafted. That would be disappointing

No but funny story - so last week I'm in Florida visiting elderly mother in the middle of SEC/ACC country. And she's old-fashioned and still gets a town newspaper physically delivered to her house every day. I pick up the Sports page and open it, and there is big photo of Will Sherman with a story on the Buffs Pro Day. That's the only college football story in the paper that day. I'm like... is this a slow news day or do the Buffs now have nationwide appeal? Turns out to be an AP wire story picked up by newspapers everywhere:

Now that we have the Champions center and a state of the art training complex I would love to see CU coordinate with the NFL teams and do not just a CU pro day but a Rocky Mountain regional one or two day combine type event.

For the guys who are prominent enough to get invited to Indy it would like a regular pro day give them an additional chance to impress scouts and talk with teams.

For the guys who are one step below a regular combine invitation it could give them a chance to impress enough to get a UFA contract or even to slip into a late round pick.

Have all the CU guys there but also include the guys from the local MWC schools, UNC and the top D2 guys.

By having the additional players here it would benefit the CU guys and others by making it worthwhile for more NFL teams to send more resources. If it is just a couple of CU guys you get some scouts. If instead you have 5 or 10 draftable players plus multiple FA prospects teams may be more willing to send top scouts and even decision makers.

Meanwhile it is also a way of showing off the CU facilities and promoting the CU brand by getting more media attention.

Sherman made the right choice. He might have moved up a round with another year in college, but sixth round is not bad.
Went to a team that has had a good number of lower round picks, including OL succeed and go on to solid careers.
