#Fire Coach Dorrell

Pittman’s buyout.

Pittman’s contract includes extensive language regarding buyout procedures if he is fired for convenience. He will be owed a severance equal to 75% of his remaining salary if he wins half or more of his games, and a 50% buyout if he has an overall losing record. No buyout would be paid if Pittman is fired for cause.
That seems reasonable.

If I were negotiating it as an AD I'd try and make it something like but with an additional "we know you'll never have to worry about this, but if you finish a season with 2 or fewer conference wins, the buyout = # of wins x 10%. Sure, theoretically that could be zero, but that's never going to happen right?"

Look again. Didn't step to his right and I doubt the cameraman fell considering the camera didn't. There is plenty to complain about with Dorrell. This shows he isn't as composed as he portrays but it's not assault like some posters are saying

CBS 4 News after the Broncos game said that HCKD apologized to the camera man today. A day too late.

Huh? You can obviously see the step to the right. Maybe you missed it because the push happens mid-step. And the camera guy clearly ends up on his ass. My guess is it was from a squat position to on the ground. In the legal sense, that is very certainly assault.

Was the camera man 4'2", or was the camera around his waist?

In a legal sense it’s assault.

In a real world sense it’s lame and stupid and harmless.

Can we all just agree that pushing people for no reason is bad but not bad enough to be a fireable offense? Too many emotions are getting intertwined with this.

Well, I’ve seen a lot of celebs assault cameramen. 😁

Coach Mac the orginial would have been fired according to the milenials and grumpy old men on this site.

Lets recap Coach Dorrell record

Frrst season 4-2 bowl game
2nd season so far 1-4 with a freshman QB and with players he didn't recruit.

Wow fire him?

Give Dorrell at least 1 more season. Allow him to make changes to his coaching staff. Chev must be shown the door.
Even then if it is a marginal improvement like 6-6 record. I would give him anoher 2 years. As long as I see improvements, will not fire Dorrell. It takes time to build a program.

@Johnny Depth i have been in the HCKD camp from the beginning and through 2020. Between recruiting and what I am seeing on the field, I have lost faith. We need a high motor recruiter and we need to get rid of the elitist assholes who think that we are Stanford lite and we need a leader to set a course to win.

HCKD ain’t it.

Coach Mac also struggled early. People forget that. Coach Dorrell might not be the guy. But it is extremely premature to say he is not the guy after 5 gamess in season 2. Should be given at least one more year to see if he can fix the problems. If Coach Dorrell is fired and a new guy is hired. The next guy will have the same problems. Might actually be a far worse situation with players transfering.

I love your logic. What I am not seeing is the vigorous recruiting of high level athletes and/or the inspirational motivation to the fan base or the players, that conveys that this will turn around.
That is the not happening and THAT is the job.

Ah so now he’s 1-4 with players he didn’t recruit, but you were sure to point out he was 4-2 last year… you forgot to say he also did that with players he didn’t recruit.

So if you see improvements you won’t fire him. What about massive regression? He was 4-2 last year, and he’s likely to be 1-11 or 2-10 this year. Is that improvement?

Coach Mac also adjusted to his players. He didn't come in with an option background. He adjusted to it because that is what gave them the best chance to win with the personnel he had. That's what a good coach is willing to do.

Is Dorrell doing that? Nope players must adjust to what he's comfortable with. FIRE HIM

I am guilty of being a sunshine pumper for Hawk, Embree, and HCMM. I like what I saw last year in terms of execution, but this year is unexplainably bad. No identity and very predictable offensively. We don’t have the most dominant athletes at each position every Saturday, that is where having an offense that can mix it up is so important. I literally was predicting each play pre-snap on Sat and was right more than I was wrong, and I am not an opponent’s D1 football coach staff that have watched hours of game film to prepare. This is coaching, not players.

I don't want to make another change unless we absolutely have to (Lose to Arizona and we're looking at 1-11. Like 2012, that's a point where the ****show has to stop.) because that would make 3 coaching changes going back to December of 2019. That's a ridiculous amount of program instability, and that's something that is going to limit our pool of candidates should we make a move. Is that really that hard for you to understand-or is your head that far up your ass?
on the one hand I agree. Too much change in too short a period of time is bad. The program is already shaping up to be a dumpster fire and all these coaching changeS was certainly part of it.

on the other hand If you can get someone great and that person can book two to three fsolid recruiting classes were on our way.

if something positive doesnt start happening soon, particularly on the recruiting front, well....

There’s no way either of us know for sure, so I’m just going to assume he’s trolling to have fun at everyone’s expense.
I’ve often thought that his act is just a giant troll job, too. If so, he’s the greatest troll in the history of trolls.

Coach Mac lived and breathed recruiting.

He came in to a team with a roster that made this one look like Alabama.

Coach Mac lost a lot of games early but his positive energy was infectious. The fans didn't see it but everyone inside the program could see that he was making things happen.

There is zero sense of any of that with Dorrell.
