Bob won't get fired, but OUs defense is not good. Can he fire his brother?

I should have been more clear. Yea, BS won't get fired over a bowl game. The rest of the staff? That is fair game if its a continuation of regular season performance.

As far as his brother, it may be uncomfortable but it may be necessary.

Michigan is a lot more loaded. Than appears. As was Stanford. If he can find a QB he rights that ship fast. He good.

That's exactly it. He installed a B1G type of offense when he first showed up at Stanford ... worked out pretty well. A strong running game, a drop-back type of QB, and a great defense will add up to UM getting back into national prominence.

Paying Harbaugh $8M is probably less risky than taking a shot at a good coach like everyone assume Hoke was, at $2M. I just don't see Harbaugh's teams being anything but good, quickly. I'm typically slow to buy in on guys (see Mora arguments) but Harbaugh just has an it-factor that works both on the field and in living rooms. It may not work 4 years into a pro-team run, but I think it works in college.

Friday we hear about a new "opportunity" for Mike when he is announced as Colorado's new defensive coordinator.

I will neg rep you of that happens.

That it-factor recruits itself too. He's probably gonna have good recruiters on staff, but regardless, all the kids will know of Harbaugh, they'll pick up the phone, his recruiting is very unlikely to fail.

Michigan is a declining program in a declining conference. I'd like to see harbaugh fail.

I agree with the declining conference and Michigan's results haven't been good by their standards as of late. That said Urban Meyer seems to be doing okay in that declining conference and Michigan has resources to match or exceed tOSU if they want to.

Michigan in recent years has probably been more of an administration problem than a football problem but at $8 million a year it's reasonable to expect that Harbaugh will be the one making decisions now.

He could still flop. The pressure is going to be intense and Michigan and the B1G aren't what they used to be. Harbaugh himself also has a history of wearing out a welcome.

That all said he is also a very good coach with a first class track record. His name will get him into a lot of recruits doors. He showed at Stanford that he could recruit and that he could use talent.

You serious? Chill the **** out, we were being talked about last week when Baer and LaRussa were fired. They're not going to tweet about a team when they don't have sources giving them information.

Quick, someone source some information to them!!!

Harbaugh´s salary at Michigan will be 5m plus incentives according to the Michigan AD, same salary he had with the Niners

That's a bargain. Michigan really won this years' coaches sweepstakes. Good for them. I hope they start to stick it to OSU.

Harbaugh passed on becoming the highest paid coach in CFB or even the B1G, was more concerned with his assistant pool.

http://www.bruinsnation.com/ucla_br...sco-49ers-rumor-speculation-officially-begins

SI.com's Peter King – one of NFL's most plugged in reporters close to the leagues owners, coaches etc – officially started 49ers/Mora speculation in his weekly column this AM:
York said Sunday night that Baalke would be in charge of the coaching search. And boy, will there be pressure on the next head coach. I hear a few things: Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will be interviewed, and he has a chance to get the permanent job; Fangio is very well-respected within the building, and in particular on the staff. I hear Baalke may have interest in UCLA coach Jim Mora, who was San Francisco's defensive coordinator for five years (1999-2003)

If Mora would happen to go to the NFL who would UCLA go after? Obviously the common first choices have already been picked over. They have the resources so would they be able to convince a current P5 coach to jump settiing off another round of coaching search

I would think Whittingham would be the obvious choice. After that, they may look to a coordinator, Mazzone, Wilcox shoot, maybe even Todd Graham (just kidding, sort of, not really).

Probably nothing to this, I think this rumor pops every year with the idea that Richt is burned out, and it would really like to take some time to focus on his charity/church work. You'd think he'd want to give UGA more notice if he were to do it.

That would be somewhat believable had he not said Kirby Smart is the current DC. Smart is the current DC... at Alabama. Seems like someone "in the know" would kind of know that. I always think Richt looks burnt out and now that he has some coaching vacancies on staff, I could see him being over it and ready to move on....
