2019-20 Pac-12 MBB Thread

Stanford is for real. Destroyed Oklahoma last night to remain undefeated. They play a really good Butler tonight.

UCLA, ASU and WSU will try not to embarrass themselves. At least one of them will probably fail.

Game that matters is CU vs Clemson.
Stanford's new pg Terry is a joy to watch. Ice cold

Wazzu started the season with some promise that they wouldn't suck.

They suck.

Today they lost to CSU.

OSU should beat San Jose State today.

Big game today is #11 Oregon vs #13 Seton Hall.

Oregon with two golden chances for big wins. Comes up just short in both. Ugh.
The thing about Oregon is that they're this close to being elite despite so many new guys and their best player not being eligible until December. They're a Final Four caliber team this year.

No Pac-12 games today, so I figure it's a good day for a snapshot of the conference standings:

Arizona 9-0 (#19 KenPom)
Colorado 7-0 (#33 KenPom)
Stanford 8-1 (#53 KenPom)
Oregon State 7-1 (#61 KenPom)
Washington 7-1 (#45 KenPom)
USC 7-2 (#59 KenPom)
Oregon 6-2 (#15 KenPom)
Utah 6-2 (#117 KenPom)
Arizona State 5-2 (#67 KenPom)
UCLA 6-3 (#114 KenPom)
Cal 5-3 (#173 KenPom)
Washington State 4-4 (#156 KenPom)

Pac-12 games Friday-Sunday:

Fri, USC at TCU
Sat, Arizona at Baylor
Sat, NM State at WSU
Sat, Central Arkansas (1-6) at Utah
Sat, Cal at Santa Clara (that's an 8-2 team, good this year)
Sat, Hawaii (6-2) at Oregon
Sat, Colorado at Kansas
Sat, Louisiana (5-3) at ASU
Sun, Denver (4-5) at UCLA
Sun, Gonzaga at Washington

We can (and likely will) lose that game in Kansas and get a KenPom bump. Crazy.

USC holding on and getting that tip in to win by 2 at TCU was a big one for the Pac-12 last night. Good game to watch, too. (I ended up watching more of this than Utah-Oregon football.)

That said... **** USC.

USC is going to be the frustrating PAC12 team that drags everyone down. They’ll knock off the Chards and then lose to Wazzu the next week.

This weekend's Pac-12 games

Today
#10 Oregon over #5 Michigan 31-23 at the half
UCLA vs Notre Dame
Weber St vs Utah
Ark Pine Bluff vs Oregon St
Stanford vs San Jose St
Georgia vs Arizona St
#6 Gonzaga vs #15 Arizona

Tomorrow
UC Riverside vs Washington St
Long Beach St vs USC

Oregon and Michigan going to OT. Been a helluva game.
Today is a huge opportunity for the Pac-12. If Oregon gets this one and Arizona beats Gonzaga, the conference quickly positions itself for 5+ bids in the Dance. Losing them could mean it's a 3 or 4 bid year.

OU's Pritchard is giving them what Kin did for us in his 1st year, often in his 2nd, not much lately. . mich guard is real good too. could that shoulder be an issue? he needs to be back to 'normal' by conference

Nicely done, Ducks.

They've got cupcakes for their last 3 games before they open Pac-12 play on 1/2 trying to keep their Boulder streak alive.
