Two quotes stood out to me from that article:
"The entire sport is waiting to see if Coach Prime can turn this low-level Pac-12 program into a national title contender." (ouch, ouch)
"...but he’s getting in on the ground floor of what could eventually be a monster of a program. Why mess around with a random middle-tier Power 5 school when you can be the quarterback of the future for Coach Prime?" (**** yeah!)

I don't think that's right. There's zero mention of it on the Illinois 247 board, and I'd be surprised if he publicly announced an Unofficial. I was just trying to figure out what happened with his Twitter, but it looks like he got hacked.
I'm good with O'Neil but at this point I'm not overly worried about recruiting against the fuskers, even for their local kids.
Prime is turning us into one of those national programs that kids, even the top ones, get excited about getting an offer from. Nebraska meanwhile has been on a downward slide in the eyes of kids and Rhule has not turned that perception around.
They have an advantage in bag size but seeing how the majority their quality recruits don't stay there shows what situation the program is in. As they continue to get curbstomped by the top teams in their conference and losing games to teams that used to be their record stuffers in the old days the momentum isn't going to turn around for the positive.
