Bowl Games (other than ours) and associated silliness 2024 Plus the Playoffs

The bowls are made for TV events. They don't care how many people are in the stands other than to make it look halfway decent on TV.
They care, their hope is that a significant number of fans show up to rent hotel rooms, buy meals, and otherwise leave their money behind when they go home. It doesn't take close to a full stadium to make this worthwhile for a host city. I'm certain there is no shortage of available services in Boise in late December.

Some fans bases do much better at this than others. There is a reason a 6-6 Nebraska team is likely to get picked over a 7-5 or even 8-4 team for a bowl. They have tens of thousands of fans who want to be someplace other than Nebraska in the darkest of winter. They travel very well, and profitably for the host cities.

That said it is TV money that makes the whole thing happen and if they only sell 10,000 tickets (and give away another few thousand to make the stadium look occupied) as long as the TV money pays the bills they are happy.

There are some absolutely atrocious players and coaches in these lesser bowl games TBH. Fvck Pitt by the way.

So, so good to be part of the haves now.

Narduzzi is a ****ing idiot
Yeah. 4th and goal at 1 to win the game to conclude 2nd OT and he kicks a FG to tie.
Then it goes to 3rd overtime, where you basically have 1 shot at it from the 3 and Toledo gets to match it.
you have one play to win it (or lose it) in the 2nd overtime from the 1 and you elect to get to the 3rd overtime, where you have a worse setup?

WTF? You MUST go for it and he's eternally an IDOT.

Watching KSU v Rutgers just drives home more and more that we are EVERYONE'S Super Bowl.
Ultimately it will make us a better team since the B12 no longer has top tier teams for the most part.

Was hoping KSU would show out better than this though for the perception of the B12. Rutgers isn’t any good.
