Bowl Games (other than ours) and associated silliness 2024 Plus the Playoffs

Damm, this part of the country sucks at football *

* - 16 of the last 18 national champions have come from the Southeastern part of the country

And yes the ACC sucks at football and their bowl record is comical, no doubt there. But at least they're a premier conference in basketball! Oh wait....
I think ACC bowl performance shows generally what the season showed. They are the 4th best conference. Nothing more. Nothing less. Just 4th.

Why do you think the southeastern part of the country sucks so much at football, and what are your opinions on the ACC bowl record?

Do you miss the PAC yet?

And to answer the 2nd question, hell no I don't miss the PAC! Although I could do without ASU and Utah in the Big 12.

I can remember times that equally qualified teams from other conferences weren't invited. Self-fulfilling prophecy.

.....You and Duff love this phrase when it comes to the SEC

In this scenario, assuming the higher seeds advance, the only difference is Indiana and Tennessee would still be playing instead of Arizona State and Boise State. The matchups would obviously be different as well, but I don't think there's a compelling reason why either Indiana or Tennessee should still be in the playoff.

Conference champs should mean something. By this logic, the Vikings should get the 2 seed in the NFL playoffs.

Of the 2 big underdogs, Boise is the one I could see pulling the upset. Not that I think it will happen but I could see this more than ASU over Texas. I do think Boise can make it an interesting game though

Only because the term is entirely apt.

Okay - I'm off to grill some steaks. Have a great evening and maybe we can both root for Penn State to hold Jeanty below Barry Sander's (real) yardage record.

I'm always seeking common ground - it's just who I am.

I seriously enjoy the back and forth with you!
