Agree... This OSU/Ore game is over, 31-0. @The Alabaster Yak beat me to this, but the teams with byes (i.e... sat for 3 weeks) are coming out sluggish in all 3 phases compared to their opponent, who won a home game last week. Teams winning a week ago are more engaged and in the flow early. 1st Q: teams that played last week: 42, ASU 3. ASU's opening drive was stopped, but bailed out by roughing the punter.

ASU played a heck of game and Texas tried to throw it away, however the early gashes spelled doom, although ASU had shots (the blocked FG, OT). Tough to spot 14 points (or 2 scores) and come back to win. Boise was over-matched and OR is just stinking up the place. GA may flip the script given all that is going on in NO.

The difference being that Alabama only played 8 conference games, and the SEC already had three other teams in the field. I actually think BYU has a better case than Alabama does, but that's my bias showing.

All I'm really hoping for is that the game will raise the overall level of respect for the B12. If there's three teams all on the bubble next year, and one of them is a B12 team, I'm hoping that this game will be in the back of the minds of the committee and give the B12 team an edge. Probably won't mean a thing, but like I said, it's an irrational hope.

I agree with you. ASU did great in yards and TOP, but those early gashes forced them play from behind. ASU was the better team today, however they spotted Texas 11 points in like 90 seconds.

I was not watching this thread during the ASU game…..so I am sure this was discussed. How was that not targeting? Horrible call that screwed ASU. I know that UT missed the field goal, but ASU would have had the chance to score and put the game away. I would be so pissed if I were an ASU fan.

I really don't understand blindly rooting for a conference.

My reason for pulling for ASU was not blind. It was clear the meteor I was hoping for was not gong to show, so the memory of Rusty tipped the scale.

Yes, but we have much less interaction with them than ASU.
