Bowl Games (other than ours) and associated silliness 2024 Plus the Playoffs

Maybe it is the fact that I’m watching ESPN on a streaming service of questionable legality, but every commercial break only has 4 commercials, all of which are for other ESPN programs: CFP promo, Chad 85 pitching crazy ideas to Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, NFL playoff promo, and the U20 women’s cricket world championship (of all things).

It’s driving me bonkers.

That was sarcasm font, dude.

I think what we're learning here is that there are a lot of things that are different than we've ever seen. Completely changing everything after one year may lead to a situation where we're changing everything every year as a reaction to every season.

Like I said, we don't know how this is all going to play out. It seems to be that the bye teams are at a disadvantage. Teams might not want the bye after this.
They may use the bye as an excuse but in this case, and that of Boise, it more likely is simply teams records not being an accurate reflection of how good they might be.

Wouldn't have mattered if Boise had a first round game or not, PSU was simply much better than they were.

In this game Ohio State looks to simply be the better team. This isn't about somebody being rusty or bad timing, it is about getting dominated.

Oregon barely beat tOSU at home earlier in the season but otherwise haven't had an impressive 13-0.

Yep. I think the bye thing may be real. All I’m for next year is 1-12 seeding, 4 conf champs get in (not necessarily get byes), G6 has to be in top 12.

A long bye exposes teams early in the game. Not being up to game speed can really hurt if the opponent can lay on points like Ohio State.

I was not watching this thread during the ASU game…..so I am sure this was discussed. How was that not targeting? Horrible call that screwed ASU. I know that UT missed the field goal, but ASU would have had the chance to score and put the game away. I would be so pissed if I were an ASU fan.

You guys need to learn the rules. The players need to make a peace sign before, during, or after hitting a defenseless player with the crown of his helmet for it to be targeting. If an opposing players feelings don’t get hurt, it is not targeting.

I use the sports app with my sisters login to watch these games. I have seen the subway commercials 729 times this fall. They must be charging too much or something. Same 4 commercials all year long…..

I’m curious how ESPN makes any money when it’s only promoting itself

Honestly don't recall what play your talking about.

This isn’t great quality, but on the replay during the game, it was clear as day. Forearm uppercut right to the neck under the face mask. They didn’t call it. Ergo, the non-call v UT (plus the fact he had his arms out to wrap up like he should) was correct.
