Bowl Games (other than ours) and associated silliness 2024 Plus the Playoffs

That's no longer illegal, much to my chagrin. Teammates can push or pull ball carriers as much as they want.
But that’s not actually true:
Rule 9-3-2b in the NCAA prohibits a ball carrier from grasping a teammate or having a teammate pull, lift, or grasp them to help them move forward. The penalty for violating this rule is a five-yard penalty with
three-and-one enforcement.

Interfering for or Helping the Ball Carrier or Passer—ARTICLE 2 Approved Ruling 9-3-2 I In trying to gain yardage, ball carrier A44 is slowed by defensive players attempting to make the tackle Back A22 (a) puts his hands on the buttocks of A44 and pushes him forward; (b) pushes the pile of teammates who begin to surround A44; (c) grabs the arm of A44 and tries to pull him forward for more yardage RULING: (a) and (b) Legal It is not a foul to push the ball carrier or the pile (c) Foul for assisting the runner Five-yard penalty with three-and-one enforcement (Rule 9-3-2-b)

You can push. You can’t pull/lift/cary.

put me firmly in the contra-Texas camp. Did ASU hire Alex Grinch to relief-pitch/coach the Sun Devil OT D in the 6 months since the Big XII Championship and I didn't see? ;)

with respect to 66's family relationship, lot of things to like about Austin and maybe even UT as a school but horn fan, naw. No way.

Skattebo took a cheap shot at one of our guys on a kickoff after the game was already decided last year.

I'll say he's fun to watch, but also actually pretty easy to hate. For some, he's probably the "love him on your team, hate him on your rival" type, but I generally hate guys that play that half step past the whistle and sell it as effort instead of just actually recognizing that it's dirty.

YMMV

Dillingham is easy to like though.
THIS ****ING RIGHT HERE! It’s burned into my mind and that little piece of **** can rot in ****ing hell with his CTE.

I don’t understand the ASU hate? Dillingham is a good dude, offensive wizard, and Skattebo is crazy but I don’t think he’s a hatable guy. In the big 12 I hate Arizona, Utah, UCF, Baylor, wayyyyy more. Oh and now BYU. The rest are pretty much on equal footing.
He’s actually a really ****ing hatable guy.

Edit (incase anyone forgot)

Firmly believe the officials in this game will do everything in their power to make sure the SEC gets another team in the semis.

How so? One was actual targeting. One was not.

Also what are your thoughts on the non-call when Skattabo was pulled into the endzone?
In one, the players were both in the air (but not a forcible launch) and the ASU player's head went to the side. The ASU player's arm hit the Texas receiver's shoulder pad and bounced into his facemask. I remember watching all of the angles thinking, 'if this is somehow called targeting, then anything could be called targeting".

In the other event, the Texas player took two steps and forcibly drove his head (just above the facemask) into the ASU receiver's head.

Remind why Simmons was ejected from the Big XII Conference Championship game.

Maybe we saw that differently. I saw the ASU uppercut his forearm into the UT receiver’s neck through his facemask. When the receiver is in the process of making a catch (defenseless) there doesn’t need to be forcible or launch, nor be struck by the defender’s head.

I saw that in one view, and then in another angle I realized that he drove his forearm into the shoulder of the receiver. Three players were making a play on the ball (I acknowledge that the ASU defender in question was a little late to the party).

The Texas defender drove his head into the head of a receiver who was truly defenseless, which was probably why the receiver appeared to be knocked unconscious.
