Bowl Games Thread

When you felt like it was in your best interest to show up or try hard. Thanks, but no thanks. Addition by subtraction to get guys like that out of the locker room no matter their talent.
You are taking this to a ridiculous level as it's concerned with McCaffrey.

Not being a smart ass, but has anyone argued that it's not called quitting? He is absolutely quitting, but I don't believe this quitting to be a bad thing in the slightest. Joe Williams is the one who literally quit on his teammates and only came back when 3 of them got injured. He was nationally praised for "coming out of retirement".

Medford seems to be dancing around the wording. McCaffrey can do what he wants.

Some people seem to have a personal bias or even vendetta against the McCaffrey's for some reason and it's showing. I guess because their sons have decided to go elsewhere for school and football? Regardless, where were all of you when fournette announced the same decision?

Everyone trying to discuss actual bowl games in this thread...

Not really. I think the larger problem is that stupid rule that a guy has to be 3 years removed from high school in order to enter the NFL. McCaffrey didn't really want to be there this year in the first place. There's a reason for the rumors of the time missed and limited usage this year being mostly a case of him protecting himself, the team falling out of things early, and it being a diagnosis of "draftstockitis".

I'm talking about you saying things like "addition by subtraction by getting a selfish guy like that out of the locker room". Do you feel the same way about Tupou, Samson, Falo, Dino, Awini, etc, who all acted selfishly by committing crimes?

Our society? God forbid some dudes decide putting themselves through meaningless pain and injury for your enjoyment isn't in their best interests.
Them "putting" themselves through pain and injury is why he's going to get paid. No fans (our enjoyment) = no paycheck. How dare fans expect something for their money.

Money ruins everything good about sports

And NFL-first fans ruin what is unique about college ball.

Don't care about McCaffrey's pro career. His greedy/selfish approach is NFL driven, not P12 driven.

When it comes to being selfish at the expense of teammates (and the state of Colorado) one wouldn't expect anything different from a Stanford product.

Well, except that one time when a rookie QB out of Stanford made a selfish decision that turned out to be pretty good for the state's football fans...

This is stupid.

Sounds like the best thing to do is let players jump straight from HS to the draft. Or how about making them go to college for one year?

I mean, it's done wonders for the college basketball game.

Yeah, not selfish of you at all to not care about McCaffrey's career and call him out for going where he wanted to go for school or when to go pro. His life, man, not yours.

Dude, your defense of CMac is beyond reason. Not sure where your blind loyalty is coming from but it is a lot more than CMac is giving his teammates and the Stanford fans

Actually the defense for his action is incredibly reasonable.

Guess we will disagree on this one. TSchekler seems to be over the top on the defense but whatever. Glad to not have had to have deal with folks on a daily basis that put themselves above the team in this way. Serious recipe for the broader organization coming up short over and over. But who cares right, CMac will get paid.
