Bowl projections

Vegas gets 3rd pick so unless Oregon misses the playoffs, it's highly unlikely Colorado is around for this selection. Vegas might be stuck with the selection none of them wants which is Wazzu

I would not call South Carolina a middling SEC school.

I guess ultimately "You are what your record says you are" but, man, they have played a pretty difficult schedule and are basically 2-3 plays away from their best season EVER, and Sagarin has them at like 12th. They can play with pretty much anyone.
Yes, sorry this year they are very good. Overall, I wouldn't call them the upper class of the SEC.

Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Utah, and Washington will all be eligible for these bowls.

- Holiday Bowl vs ACC
- LA Bowl vs Mountain West
- Las Vegas Bowl vs SEC
- Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl vs Big 12
- Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl vs ACC
- Valero Alamo Bowl vs Big 12

Alamo Bowl gets first choice. Oregon is going to the playoffs. Perhaps ASU too, if they defeat Iowa State.

That leaves Colorado, 6-6 USC, and 6-6 Washington as options, along with Washington State.

I just don’t see much of a scenario where Colorado isn’t selected by the Alamo Bowl.

Only scenario is Iowa State winning the B12 and A$U getting the nod…

If ASU loses to ISU, perhaps they would get sent to the Alamo Bowl, which would bump us down to the Holiday Bowl? I agree the Alamo looks most likely, though.

EDIT: Looks like Manhattan had the same thought.

Someone clear this up for me.

Last I checked, the legacy PAC teams are still playing under PAC bowl affiliations. The Alamo Bowl is a PAC vs Big XII matchup. Thus if ISU loses the Big XII championship, they go to Alamo and face USC or Washington.

If ISU wins the Big XII, ASU goes to Alamo as PAC rep to face a legacy Big XII team.

Our chance at Alamo is thus obviously that ASU wins the Big XII, we go to Alamo as PAC rep, and we end up playing ISU or BYU.

What am I doing wrong?

Why would ISU go to the Alamo bowl and play USC or Washington when CU is ahead of both from the legacy PAC 12?

You’re not posting awesome wildlife photos for us to enjoy?

Fairly certain that the Alamo Bowl, if free to pick any legacy Pac teams of its choosing, would pick us, given that Oregon is going to the CFP regardless of their game next Saturday. Even if ASU was available, we'd both be 3 loss teams.

I'm rooting for ISU next week both because **** Sparky and because I don't want ISU to be available as a potential opponent.

We will go to the Alamo Bowl because Prime knows that we have solid fan support from Colorado-Texas-Georgia type of regions and thus San Antonio is convenient.

I could see us playing Iowa State if they lose in the CCG, or BYU, teams we have not played. ASU if they lose the CCG would be good fit for the Holiday

Alamo Bowl odds are about 90%

I've been vocal about my desire to play BYU in the CCG, I guess doing it in the Alamo Bowl would be a decent consolation prize.

I stopped looking at social media about Prime saying everyone is going to play. It's crazy how everyone who was bitching last year about how nobody plays in bowl games thinks it's the most irresponsible thing ever.

Pretty sure at this point, Prime could come out and say the sky is blue, and college football social media would go crazy picking out all the other colors the sky could be, because by no means could they say Prime was right about anything.

Alamo can choose any bowl eligible team from either conference and they have the #1 choice.

Looking at the ratings. BYU and Iowa State will be a tough choice

Any chance with all the SEC going to the playoffs that their tie ins won’t be filled and we can slide into a Gator or Outback bowl or some ****…you know, with Deion and whatnot?
