Bracketology/Bubble Watch 2021

Oklahoma is the most overrated team in the country. Getting railed by Kansas. Would be 15-10 with the loss. There only wins since January are 3 against a 2-22 Iowa state team and one against WVU in double OT. Have lost to Kansas state as well in that stretch and are right behind the buffs in the AP.

I don't understand why about 10 top 25 teams are even ranked. OU tops that list.

Georgetown gave us a window to move up a seed line with a 72-71 win over Villanova.

I was selling Nova before the Gillespie injury. After the injury, they've become the dream draw for a 4/5 or 3/6 game.

I disagree. They lost a lot of close games to tough teams but they have the make up to spell trouble in the tournament. Reaves, their PG, is super impressive and rather unassuming for a ball player.

They've cut it to 5 against KU

That's where I don't agree with you-I think Duke needed to take the ACC tournament to make the dance. Cuse is in as of now, but they need a lot of chalk to stay in in my view.

I guess I hadn't looked at Duke that closely but since they won their first 2 games in the ACC tourney I figured a win over FSU might put them back up there after closing the regular season poorly.

ESPN's bull**** power index said Duke would have been in had they won today.

That's what I was figuring, but the Bubble is always in flux. Duke would have taken a hit if it lost the game after FSU. Hard to know how it would have shaken out.

Hokies doing a great job rebounding on the defensive end. UNC absolutely annihilated ND on the offensive glass last night which was a huge factor in that blowout win.

My god they are massive though.

the office thats GIF

Alot of Covid issues with the ACC past couple of weeks. I haven't noticed this as much with other conferences - have I just not been paying close enough attention?

catch 22, would love to draw and ACC team in the tourney for a statement win...but that apparently would open our boys up to covid exposure

<rant>FÜCK Covid. I'm sick of this ****.</r> I know, so is everyone else, and it's not like I've been affected to a greater extent than anyone reading this post.

But its absolute BS that FSU gets to the semis without playing a game and now GIT gets there with a surprise 3rd round bye!?!?!?!

the NCAA should've made basketball an outdoor sport for this season.

the ACC should've bubbled.

the USA should've had a competent leader who enacted nationwide virus protocols based on science.

I posted this in another thread but I just can't imagine your season getting cut short in the tourney because of this, has to be the worst way to end a season. I know they have to make rules for this kind of thing but to advance because the other team got covid or to not be able to advance because your team has COVID blows and is going to make this years tourney probably have an ** or two by a few teams.

Hasn't been mentioned yet, but even if UVA gets in, they probably won't be able to have real practices for a while either.

There are some teams we neee to avoid, North Carolina in particular. I don’t think our bigs would score a point.

two weeks per ACC protocol.

good question

I'm still digesting this, but the easy answer to the first question is that the ACC and the NCAA are different organizations with different policies. this leads to a comparable simple answer to the second, that the teams will follow the NCAA protocol, not the ACCs. the key difference being whether players exposed to the virus who test negative are required to quarantine for 14 days.
