They probably need to win the conference tourney. Hard to see them getting 4 teams in out of the MWC, and they'd have to skip over CSU to take UNM as the fourth...

Think you're probably right. Some good wins, but 8-8 in the MWC just isn't going to do it, even if you beat BYU 3 times...
 
Big other games tomorrow:

-Lunardi has said tonight that Michigan State has to beat Purdue, or they're not going to make it.
-Georgia and Alabama play. Georgia is currently the last team in, Bama is in "First Four Out". Loser is done.
-Virginia Tech plays FSU. If the Hokies lose, it's up in the air. They don't impress me, but which of these mere "bubble" teams do? I'm so glad the Buffs are so much better than that. Must suck to sweat it out on Selection Sunday
 
I posted this in another thread, but Lunardi has us slotted today as an 11-seed playing Cincy in Tucson, then the 2nd-round matchup would be against 3-seed SDSU. You'd have to like our chances of getting to the Sweet 16 with that draw.

As for the UNM talk, they're listed in the 2nd four out, so a 3rd win over BYU still might not be enough.

I wish it would fall like that, but who knows where we would end up. Plus SDSU is tough as hell.

Not final. I think SDSU ends up with a 2 seed and BYU drops to a 3 after the MWC tourney. I'd love to get BYU for a shot at the Sweet 16.
 
Looking at their season, I think SDSU should be a 2 seed, regardless of the outcome of their conference tourney. And I believe with the suspension, and their late season blah, beewhyyou should be a 3 or 4 seed.

Of course, I don't get paid for my opinions like the selection committee does.

USD. SDSU's latest football coaches were Brady Hoke, Chuck Long, and Tom Craft.

USD, go Toreros... We might have only won 6 games this year, but at least we will always have the first ever NCAA tournament win for the city of San Diego. StDSU is something like 0-8 all time in the tourney, no doubt they'll be chaning that this year.

haha a fellow torero on a CU message board? crazy. USD...university of spoiled daughters. But even if those daughters are spoiled, they are the finest looking group of women i've EVER seen. and that includes my undergrad days at dear ol CU.

we need to fire our (our meaning USD's) bball coach. our offense looks like a chicken with its head cut off. and our talent is just a hair above a decent high school team...oh and then get rid of our maybe-too-flamboyant mascot.

I don't think BYU will survive UNM today nor a decent first round matchup.

Jimmer is great, but they have no one inside now.

0-8. those kinds of records are misleading. any team playing in the NCAA as a double digit is going to lose games....can't really attribute it "futility".

Still 2 teams alive in that tourney that should be in the big dance anyway - Temple and Richmond. Need to root for one of them to win the tournament...
 
Georgia and Bama going OT. Game is on Altitude. Georgia hit a game winning 3 at the buzzer of regulation but their idiot coach called a timeout first.

Alabama is guaranteed out with a loss....if they win, both them & UGA are one of those last 4 teams in/out then...most "analysts" saying winner in the tourney, loser out and if that were true we definitely have a better resume than alabama and lost to UGA head to head
 
I think we gotta root for Georgia since it helps our RPI a bit, plus they are higher up on the bubble watch.

Clemson/BC - Not sure who to chear for here...Clemson?

Illinois/Meecheegan - Definitely want the Illini

Looks like Michigan is down double digits in the 2nd
Clemson is up 12 over Boston College
and UNC barely beat Miami which ends the discussion of them most likely
 
Michigan/Illini are tied at 51 with under 4 minutes left
Clemson is up almost 20 with about 5 minutes left bye bye Boston College.
 
Michigan wins which hurts the buffs a bit. Illinois was up 12 with under 9 minutes to go and ****ed it up. They actually only scored 4 points in the final 9 minutes and had like a 7 minute stretch without scoring a point.
