BYU Game thread. Official.

Prime seems to get it with Salter. He's been trying to get him to stop questioning himself and to decisively react to what he sees. I think this is the right approach. I'd rather Salter just be an athlete instead of overthinking things. If he is aggressive and comes with authority, even if he's wrong that's still better than him being timid or indecisive.
The plays are designed for him to be an athlete but defenses job is to counter and adjust.

I have a rock solid alibi. I wasn't anywhere near these victims, traumatized by such vulgar displays.

also, notice how far they are sitting from the student section. a contact high might have helped them chill a bit if they were closer.

I have been to a ****-ton of college football games and I do not believe our students or fans are much different than most.

I did attend a Miami v. ND game, way back in the day, sporting a "Catholics v. Convicts" shirt which at the time I thought was hysterically funny.

I was out, having coffee Sunday morning, and a group of older gents were sitting at the table adjacent. The calm measured discussion they were having about our CU Buffs was refreshing and something to strive for.

why did you only think it was funny at the time? I think it still holds up well.
I'm in section 118, one section over from the grad/senior section and I didn't hear any chanting. I wasn't blindly drunk so I should have heard a chant. I don't remember chanting F the Mormons, but I wasn't completely sober either.
Real Question: Is Mormon a bad thing to say? Is F BYU any different than F the Mormons?
I guess we shouldn't say F anyone, but I know it happens every game.
Should they have chanted, Soak the Mormons?
What is the appropriate chant at a BYU game?

I will say that Prime has to start taking some risks with his decisions. Have to start going for it on 4th down and short even if from mid field. Have to start letting Buchanan get some long FG opportunities.

TCU and ISU have to pull out all the stops. Surprise onside kicks, trick plays, cover 0 blitzes, 4th down attempts. Have to leave it all on the table these next two weeks
Agree with everything listed except cover 0 blitzes. Our DBs have been so bad this year yet we continue to run majority man. Hell even when they have help over the top, Stoutmire is out of position. No help over the top and Hoover will drop deep balls on us left and right.

This secondary hasn’t shown the ability to consistently execute man or zone, so IMO, their only chance to win these next couple of games is to cause havoc on the QB and force turnovers. They aren’t going to do that with 4 and 5 man pressures.

Our student section doesn't chant anything that doesn't involve the word ****. It gets old really fast
F BYU is one thing - it's the school, the opponent, etc
F Mormons crosses the line for a lot of people. It'd be like chanting F Baptists or F Christians when playing those schools.
The destroying / throwing of the book of mormon was also a bit too far - imagine what people would do if we were playing Baylor and students were throwing bibles on the field.

For once, I'd like to hear the students actually cheer FOR our school, instead of AGAINST the opponent. But that's just the 35 year old in me

"**** Nebraska." Still has a nice ring to it.

Also **** Baylor.
