So sad to hear. A genuine showman but also arguably one of a handful of greatest college badketball players, unfortunately numerous injuries limited his greatness some what in the NBA.

It makes me sad that he saw the Pac 12 die.
Feels like when a couple has been married 70 years and the second one dies the day after the first.
I expected this to happen and think it's good news. TNT, after losing the NBA, is moving into the CBB space. Considering they're the home for the Dance, this could be the start of hoops having separate media deals from fb and drive up its value rather than being a rider to a football media deal.
And who would the Big East add? Gonzaga?
VCU, Dayton, St. Louis would all be on the table.
If the ACC implodes, maybe Duke or Wake would go the Villanova route and dropdown for football or just have FB in independent limbo like UConn.
Highly unlikely they drop down to FCS. FCS media rights don’t come remotely close to what those schools could do on their own.
A private school only football conference could emerge and some private FCS schools from that region could move up and into that conference.
As for the Big East being the forerunner for basketball only media rights deals, I doubt it and either the B12 or the ACC will pull that off. There is zero doubt that at least 95% of the Big East’s media rights are related to basketball. ACC could do that after FSU and Clemson depart the conference. The Big 12 has enough basketball schools but how much of those basketball schools will put more money into football given the CFP money to be earned?
