College Football News, Rumor & Humor

What I love about this narrative is that it shows that most competitors and the media that covers the sport have no clue about who Deion Sanders is, what he is doing, or why it's working so well. So we're going to see a bunch of attempts to emulate which will fail.
The only person I think that could do something similar is Peyton Manning. It would be a different version of the Prime effect, but could produce the same outcomes.

The thing is, we don't see the actual sports superstars who become like A List movie stars with their global commercial appeal decide to work full time coaching youth sports and then transitioning to the college level. It's a unicorn. If I'm looking to hire a coach, I'm not even thinking about trying to get my program's Prime. Instead, I'm looking at the structural & organizational changes that have worked at other places. Seems to me that the same coaches who worked before are working now, with more emphasis than ever on having a guy who is personal and engaged with his players (aloof tyrants seem to be fading away).

Peyton could do it for sure, in fact, I think College for him would be amazing considering his connections from the Passing Academy and other ventures. No doubt he could get the best QB every year. Obviously the best place for him to do his thing is Rocky Top. Problem is Peyton loves Denver and his life is pretty awesome overall without he hassle

I think Ray Lewis would be an interesting option for someone. I think he has a lot of those intangibles that Prime has

Minus the part that he killed a guy … lest we forget
Ray would need a behind the scenes superstar because I think Ray is less of an organizer than Prime is, but that is why Peyton would be out of site, because his business acumen is solid

But how do you know he is less of an organizer than Prime was before he started at JSU. People thought the opposite of Trent Dilfer because he ran that Elite 11 and coached HS before he got the UAB job.

Can’t judge a book by it’s cover

Also…murder

Ohio and Texas filled with a bunch of pussies, go figure.

The reality is they have more passion and take much more pride in the college football programs in their state, compared to say Colorado or California. Add to it that high school football in Colorado has gotten even worse, it's now embarrassingly bad.

Since Tad Boyle is given a pass by CU fans for having his least talented team in Year 15, why does he not contibute to CU's NIL Collective to help recruiting?
He's 8-2 right now. That's why he's mostly given a pass. And while I don't know exactly how this works, I do know that schools can't contribute directly to NIL by paying money to coaches that is then donated by them to a collective. If that was allowed, I'd say to increase Tad's pay by $2M per year and have him get some tax benefits while donating it to a collective.

Oh come the **** on.

He put three picks in the league last year (2 of whom were first rounders), is 8-2, and has a win against the two time defending champs on a neutral court.

Did tad kick your dog or something?

Penny Hardaway is the only close comparison to Prime I can think of; and that's still a stretch of a comparison. Penny never had the same level of stardom as Prime, inside or outside of sport, but in terms of charisma and fame Penny is probably on that second tier after guys like Prime.

I think there has to be a genuine desire to relate to and mentor young men, and give them opportunities. Penny did a few years of high school coaching before Memphis that really showed that was a big part of what he was about.

Maybe there's a couple more guys out there with a similar mix of fame, charisma, genuine desire to mentor 18 year olds, and connections like Prime and Penny; I just don't know who they are.

I'm interested to see how Andrew Luck as the GM for Stanford works out, I think that could be a great fit of alumni/donor relations, utilizing NFL connections etc. that makes a ton of sense, without pretending like he's going to be able to handle the actual coaching.

1) it’s absolutely delicious that anyone is whining about Colorado “taking advantage of the system” considering this recruit is coming from Bama, who was the poster child for exploiting the last system under Saban

2) Lol “college football’s soul is at stake” I bet this guy didn’t mind when his program was raking in recruits by paying them under the table

3) speaking of this guy- I clicked through to his profile. Let’s just say it’s unsurprising for someone who is criticizing Prime/colorado. Never fails.
