Colorado Basketball Win Shares and Adjusted +/- for the last 5 seasons

not sure how i missed this, i will get the utah and the texas southern game updated that i also some how missed.

Everything is updated through the Stanford game. (sorry this was a little delayed, I was traveling over the weekend with my ipad only, excel on the ipad is next to impossible)

Obviously a rough weekend, the Mayor takes a big hit on his ORTG, dropping from 125 to 113. Booker also had a rough weekend, but also not a big surprise that the Freshman struggled on their first conference road trip. I have faith the frosh will rebound and continue to develop, we also need Simba, Adams and Cain to step up their games in conference play.

Everything is updated through the Oregon game.

Thoughts:
Dropbox saved my life, my excel file that all of this stuff gets updated on somehow got corrupted. With 2 clicks I was able to restore a previous version from dropbox. If you don't use dropbox start now.

Dre is a freaking animal, Adams and Chen are playing themselves out of the rotation and Ski is making his presence on the court nearly mandatory.

I was surprised to see Shane's win share about 50% higher than Chen's.

However, Shane's +/- is brutal. I bet that has a lot to do with him getting a lot of his minutes when Dre is sitting.

Great work as always, jg!

I am going to come to Chen's defense in these last couple games. He has been asked to guard forwards almost every time he is on the court. I have no clue why Tad is bringing him in to do so, but he can't handle it and it shows in the numbers. Boyle seems to like finding him minutes more than anything and it hurts. He definitely gives some of the best effort though.

Random thought I had during the game -- has Dre lost a jump ball this season? I honestly can't think of one.

Another random thought... Dufault was our jump ball specialist last season.

Another random thought, reading all of the tweets about Xavier Johnson being a rebounding monster on Sat night, how much is that going to affect Dre's rebounding and defensive win share numbers next year?

Great problem to have, finding enough rebounds to go around

I was just looking at KenPom and Ski is now #1 on the team in usage %. I knew he had been handling the ball a lot lately, but wasn't expecting that. He's at 24.3%, Carlon is 24.2% and no one else is above 22%.

he is by far the best zone buster on the teams and it seems more and more teams just drop into the zone against us, so not really surprised.

It has been a lot of fun watching Boyle mold Ski's game into something that is effective in a BCS conference. Those pull up jumpers against Oregon were a thing of beauty that this offense has really been missing. Also, Ski's passing has really started to come along. Boyle will get a PG ready for next year one way or another

Yup, his offensive rating has really jumped (15ish pts) while continuing to have really high usage stats, that just shows how much more efficient he has become and is starting to take better shots. I think that his progression from the start of the season has been the best of any Buff, the Mayor came in playing pretty well and has kept it up, Ski has consistently gotten better.

Which once again proves that we should all just shut the hell up and listen to Buffnik in the future.

So basically if it involves Vegas, we listen to Nik, but for everything else we listen to Chauncey?
Unless it involves rophenal, then we talk to Rugged.

Back to topic:

What is interesting about the Oregon game is that Tad Boyle's preferred metrics show that pretty much no one played great but Roberson and Ski/Scrat. When you can play mediocre and still beat a solid team, THAT is progress.

I don't think this can't be said enough, winning games when you aren't playing your best at home is a sign of a good team. Winning road conf games is another matter, it is nearly impossible to win when not playing your best. Earlier in the year CU loses that game.

Back off-topic:

How long until Scrat officially overtakes Ski as Askia's nickname?

Everything is updated through the ASU game. I have started working on breakdowns for Mid-season, conf vs non-conf, home vs-away and a few other breakdowns. Also expect a lengthy detailed statistical analysis of the 11/12 season that nobody will read or care about.

Few thoughts on the Arizona rd trip:
AZ game: CU needs a banger of a big man, I hope Josh Scott is that guy. I really like Dufault, but he is an undersized finesse big man. This would have been a game where it would have nice to had Cain. The first few minutes of the game with Dre being as active on the offensive end I really like CU's chances, but with about 7 mins to play sorry to say but I put a fork in CU. They just don't have the horses to make a comeback on the road.

ASU: Ultimate letdown game, came out not being able to hit anything but got it together and made the run before half and that was it, game over.

MVP of the rd trip: The Mayor - didn't have a fabulous game against Zona but came back on Saturday afternoon and played great.
