To those complaining about lack of parity, I look at this field and see more parity than I’ve ever seen. No truly dominant teams like past years where 5 teams at most competed every year (no need to name as we know who those are). The money has been spread around so you’ll see more parity with Ole Miss, TN of the world always able to field an expensive team and then good to great teams a few players away can snag some transfers and compete right away for 1 year and revert back to the mean before maybe getting hot again (and then 12 teams almost ensures at least one wildcard like ASU). This is fun and I’m excited for the playoff and think there will be some upsets. Also makes it that much more painful thinking how we might have done with this field. Absolutely **** KU from this day on and forever

with 16+ team conferences playing 8-9 games in conference, why don't we have 4 team championship mini-tournies? ASU-BYU and ISU-CU in the big 12 would've crushed ratings. having a four way tie for the big 12 titles with these hypothetical tie breakers is so silly

SMU will get the last at-large CFP berth with an impressive loss tonight. The committee won't leave them out given the big wins they had over Louisville and Duke.

to further my thoughts, this isn't amateur athletics anymore. no reason not to have big 12 fourplex over two weekends. huge money for the conferences, schools, and players. the margins separating 1-4 aren't objectively realistic with a 12 game season with five year players and the transfer portal (i.e. new players gelling over the first four games, wildly disparate out-of-conference strength of schedule, and the pre-season ranking effects on end of season ranking that were so clear this year). physically football cannot have a full conference tournament and 64 team march madness program, but the way things happen now seems (to me) like the worst of both worlds.
