Money is to be made and tweets like that are ways to get more paid subs. Given how bad the P12 media rights offers are right now, it's only a matter of time before everything blows up. This coming Monday is the midpoint of May when that UA Prez seemingly expected the P12 media rights deal to be wrapped up and that was from a few months ago. That WSU Prez said six weeks but I don't think CU & UA is going to wait that long and bail before then. The only thing left is the timing of CU's announcement they are going back to the B12.

CU should go independent.

We sign a 10 year, ironclad, complex financial contract with CP. Coaching an aspect of that contract.

We do a deal for an in-depth reality show. Think of 'Last Chance U', but more upbeat, sophisticated, almost live. Follows the team thru preparation each week, lots of background, family stuff too. Show each game. An hour program, 3 times a week, then a game.

Many TV series cost producers over $10 m an episode. So, 14 episodes a year, split even with CP.

In 5 years, everything will be different anyway.

Quit bogarting the good sh!t, old man.

If the PAC is going to shine or shock with an amazing deal, the next 48 hours is very important.
They have a quarterly meeting tomorrow in Seattle. If GK has an ace up his sleeve he needs to play it now. The PAC has zero momentum right now. If this meeting happens and there is zero positive news out of it GK will have **** the bed.

How is it his fault if everyone is underbidding (rumor) for our media rights?

Its too early to tell if he **** the bed. Hes been here barely a year. You want to blame someone blame the Presidents that put mediocre football products on the field for 9/10 out of 12 for a decade.

I think its also bad timing (again) by the conference. Media is changing. Consumption tastes are changing.

Thusly, as a conference we have a poor valuation due to fan apathy (thanks presidents) that likely puts us closer to the BigXII or ACC then close to the B1G or SEC at a time where ratings are falling and producers are shopping for bargains

-Conjures up artificial deadline related to a regularly scheduled meeting
-Assigns meaning to people unaware of conjured deadline missing said artificial deadline.

Excellent rhetorical move, but one that fails under the slightest scrutiny.
As I mentioned, the PAC has no momentum. Now is the time, even if there's no real deadline, to show college football that the PAC has a pulse. If there's ANY positive news it needs to be leaked. I'm not saying a deal has to be released, but silence would be deafening.

It’s too bad we can’t figure out how to pull off this 16 team Pac 12-ACC conference. Timing doesn’t work but I like this format:

PACC - West
Colorado
Utah
Oregon
Washington
Stanford
Cal
Arizona
Arizona St

PACC - East
Clemson
Florida St
Miami
North Carolina
North Carolina St
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech

+Notre Dame partnership

To the Big 12
Pitt
Louisville
Syracuse
Duke

Creates four 16 team conferences. It’ll never happen unfortunately.

Can confirm (possible subscriber article):

Resolution related to media rights & expansion expected late spring to early summer. Summer starts on June 20th and some say this could be done just after Memorial Day.

Legal matters regarding former P12 executives and Comcast overpayments. (maybe that is why the CU BOR has met multiple times recently.)

New California legislation regarding revenue sharing among the college athletic teams such as UCLA paying Cal.

I've been thinking that all this talk reminds me of entertainment. I was on SlotEire recently, took a nice break from both the talking and the work. Try it! But it's mostly for Irish players. Although you can get it from any country.
Even if it is a 10-year contract, there will be clauses in it that allow the contract to be broken. And either party will take advantage of this opportunity if the contract becomes inconvenient. Therefore, the fact of signing this contract does not really change anything (except the legal formalities).
