Mangham is more of a power runner. It looked like the blocking scheme was more designed for the back to plant his foot and break to the hole. Broussard does that well with a very quick first step and a burst through the hole. Mangham in comparison looked slower to the hole and less explosive.#1 Mangram (sp) was real productive last year and I wondered why he wasn't more prominent.
If this blocking continues Mangham will have to adjust better to it. I think once healthy Fontenot will thrive with it.
We may see a few more runs for no gain when the back picks the wrong spot to run to or it doesn't develop well but it also looked like last night Broussard was a step or two away from some big runs. We may see more explosive gains with this system and these backs.
Unfortunately that probably doesn't bode will for Mangham in the system, and he is a guy who I really like.
