Game Thread: Cincy @ CU—October 26 @ 8:15 PM ESPN

When Allbuffs starts complaining about late games, I can't help but wonder how many of the complainers, within the last week, have stayed up later the game will last, just to:
A. Drink
B. Argue with their SO
C. Doom scroll
D. Fight with their SO
E. Binge a show
G. Cheat on their SO
H. Read a book
I. Any other behavior that the next day they wish had skipped to get the sleep

I mean, I know some people are serious about the "early to bed, early to rise" bit, but can't be that many. We're simply not that healthy of a group.

Hokie batting 0.000

The scheduling has been weird this season. You would think that a road trip to Arizona meant a late start but nope a 2 pm start in Tucson...at least the weather forecast appears decent.

Cincy fans are fuming too...they have that 10:15 pm local start too. ESPN is counting the dollars they will be getting from advertising revenue for this one.

Cincy receiving AP votes. CU is not. They have played very good defense this year. This is a tough opponent. Remember, lots of good players there with good recruiting from around their 2021 playoff season.

I have no issues with not being ranked or even receiving votes for that matter. Our schedule has kind of turned out to be pretty soft if we’re being honest.

31-19 is opponents record, but 18-4 came from NDSU, Nebraska and Kansas State (1-2 record).

End of the day, this is now the life of Big 12 programs. Making the playoff is going to take winning the conference or going 12-1/11-2 if you lose in the CCG.

Defense has been their weak point this year, not terrible on D but not close to very good.

52nd in overall defensive efficiency, most of the Big 12 teams they've played aren't good on offense; TT, Houston, UCF. ASU is the best at 36th.
TTU is 18th total offense and 18th scoring offense in the country and both #1 in Big 12, but they gave up 44 to them.

Cincy is better than anyone thought they’d be, but still probably 4th or 5th toughest team CU will have faced

I watched the Bearcats’ game against Pitt. They probably should’ve won that game, as they let a big lead slip.

This is a team that hit the portal well last year, and notably replaced their QB for better results. QB Sorsby is decent. He can run a bit, has good size, and reasonably accurate. His deep balls have a lot of air on them, so they are 50/50 balls to some degree. Offensive line is capable with two good running backs. I like their offense.

Defense has been bend, don’t break. They don’t seem to generate a ton of pressure from the base defense, and sometimes the secondary misses some assignments, but generally solid in the red zone.

I think the key matchup is their rush offense versus our rush defense.

Overall, seems like a pretty even matchup.

The concern beyond bedtimes is that late kickoffs have been very weird at Folsom under Deion. It is a spot the team will be play in a lot as long as the ratings keep coming but earlier kickoffs seem to favor the team this season.
It's been a challenge.
