It's wonderful to realize the Buffs are back. We have a highly competitive team and some great players. Thank you CP.

With the use of penalty call reviews, refs are calling a lot more 'dangerous' fouls (targeting, unnecessary roughness) If they are wrong, it just wastes time. If they are right, they can brag they are protecting players - as opposed to, if they don't throw the flag they are putting players in danger. So, a lot more bad flags to protect the ref's rep.
I also worry there is some level of info exchange on reviews. The networks each have their 'officiating expert in NY', and that person's opinion is broadcast before the review decision by the on-field ref.

Go Buffs.

Almost fell asleep at the wheel on the way home. True story.
I fell asleep during the 2nd quarter. I tried to stay awake, but woke up during the 3rd quarter. Tried hard to stay awake to watch and woke up during Deion’s post game interview. I hate 10:30pm east coast start times. I guess I’m old lol.

Developed the weirdest tickle in my throat as I was heading to Boulder last night that got progressively worse on the drive. Made it to Boulder then turned around and headed home. Managed to watch the whole game but it all feels like a blur lol.

My first take is I don’t remember a time (maybe 2016?) where we had a brilliant TD wiped off the board and then STILL scored after. The last 20 years it feels like that Jimmy Horn non-TD would have ended in a FG or probably a TO. The team just didn’t blink.

Shurmur has been calling fun games and Shedeur is my favorite. Also it looked like Seaton communicated everything to the OL pre-snap on that punishing block he threw for the rushing TD. That was awesome. Feels like the weight of the world is off our shoulders now that we are bowl eligible and we can just enjoy the rest of the season trying to add to that. LFG.

Coming into the game, SP+ (40 v 41), Sagarin (23 v 30), FEI (34 v 32), F+ (35 v 33), and Massey (34 v 41) had CU and Cincinnati as similarly ranked teams.

That game last night, to me, never really felt in doubt even when it was tied at 14. CU is getting better and stronger as the season goes on.

The part that pissed me off: Mark and Mork Jones were trying to compare the trajectory of Prime and Satterfield. And they said last year was a total failure for both coaches. I don't feel that way about last year at all.

That's the dumbest hot take I've heard all year and Prime generates dumb hot takes by the ton.

It's not on Prime that the media jumped the gun on last year's team. Anyone who actually paid attention to CU before Prime got here would know that the improvement from the last Dorrell year to last year was almost as big as last year to this year.

Not to mention last year's schedule was way harder than this one has been so far.

The officiating experts are wrong about 75% of the time though. The bet is to fade their take.

One of my buddies recently did some A/C work for Dorrell and, apparently, he was very chatty.

Dorrell is still pissed that CU didn’t provide him “the resources” and said he was set out to fail from the beginning.

Dorrell also said that he had a bunch of 5 stars lined to play for him, but that CU admissions wouldn’t let them in and that they made it super easy for Coach Prime after he got fired. 🤣

Mata hasn’t been much of an issue this year overall. Some terrifyingly low kicks earlier in the season, but his numbers aren’t bad. 🤷‍♀️
Agreed, but he is a kicker who is prone to hitting the ball low, with a max range of 47 yards, so him saying, "That ain't who I am," for sneaking a 47 yarder 8 inches over the crossbar is just a failure to see things clearly in the mirror.

He's very accurate, with limited range. Has been solid, but is more likely to be a liabilty than a huge asset in my opinion.

Re: Jimmy Horn's fifteener that wiped out a TD. That rule is stupid. You can't take score off the board for that. Move the ball on the PAT or kickoff, sure, but to act like the play stopped there is just dumb.

BTW - I'm sure he got raked over the coals here and elsewhere for that, but dropping a "peace out" on a guy as you race past him is ****ing hilarious, and anyone who gets mad about it hates fun.
