I'd say Boise is clearly the top school in MWthat seems like a lot of money for a coach who hasn’t won more than 7 regular season games in the mountain west, a conference they are clearly the top school in, and when he took over a good team/program.
I assume he meant academically. On that measure, it's right there with a couple others.I'd say Boise is clearly the top school in MW
Boise is on an amazing streak but I think CSU is clearly the best program in the Mountain West since TCU, Utah and BYU left and they built their new facilities. Boise is the best team right now but there is no way in hell they should be able to compete with CSU over the long term. Now, if SDSU gets a new stadium built they will take that over but I don't think you can really argue Wyoming, Utah State, New Mexico, Air Force, UNLV, SJSU, Fresno, Boise and Nevada are on the level that CSU is currently.I'd say Boise is clearly the top school in MW

Lol... Boise has been on a decade long "streak", is hands down the top G5 program in the West and probably a top 3 candidate for P5 expansion. CSU isn't even close, and IDGAF about their new stadium that they still can't fill.Boise is on an amazing streak but I think CSU is clearly the best program in the Mountain West since TCU, Utah and BYU left and they built their new facilities. Sparkles left the program a lot worse off than what most outsiders thought. He didn't recruit a good base, which is why Bobo had a true frosh QB last year and has been converting WRs into DBs, etc. The defense was pretty much graduated when Sparkles left.that seems like a lot of money for a coach who hasn’t won more than 7 regular season games in the mountain west, a conference they are clearly the top school in, and when he took over a good team/program.
Last 3 seasons: BSU - 9, 10, 10 wins with a conference championship.I think Boise has been slowly slipping since Petersen left. I don't consider them dominant in their own league anymore. Fresno and Colorado St are the teams to watch.

Boise isn’t going to a bigger conference that is pretty clear. CSu has the best facilities in the mwc, pays the most for head coaches and assistant coaches, had the second highest attendance in the conference last year behind SDSU, and have the best support from the school itself. It is pretty clear that they are the top program in that conference and the best job.Lol... I’m not really talking about wins here, just about what the school/job offers. How long does a streak need to be before it's the status quo? I really can't remember any five year stretch in the past fifteen years where I would consider CSU to be better than Boise.
I already laid it out. Attendance and a debatable statement of support from the school does not mean CSU is clearly the top program in the conference. You won't admit it, but you are clearly wrong on this issue.Boise isn’t going to a bigger conference that is pretty clear. Last 3 seasons: BSU - 9, 10, 10 wins with a conference championship.
Last 3 seasons: CSU - 7, 7, 7 wins
Since 2011, they've won the MW 3 times and averaged 10.2 wins/year, gone 4-2 in bowl games and won the Fiesta Bowl.
Since 2011, CSU has never won the MWC, averaged 6.5 wins/year, gone 1-3 in bowl games, with their lone win in the New Mexico Bowl.
CSU hasn't beaten Boise State... Ever.. Like they have never scored more points than Boise State has in a single game when they've played each other. Boise State is 7-0 against CSU since 2011. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest BSU has been slipping and even less evidence to suggest CSU is clearly better than them or a "team to watch".
You didn’t lay out anything, Boise State was never a candidate for anything because they are a shifty school in a small town. Have you seen their fan support that last few years? They struggle with it too. I laid out facts you you didn’t prove any of them wrong. Here are the facts.I already laid it out. Attendance and a debatable statement of support from the school does not mean CSU is clearly the top program in the conference. You won't admit it, but you are clearly wrong on this issue.

1. CsU has the best facilities in the mountain west
2. CsU has the second best location in the mountain west behind SDSU
3. CsU was second in he conference in attendance last year behind SDSU, and ahead of Boise State even though you say their fan support sucks
4. CsU pays the highest salaries in the conference and had the highest paid assistant coach in the group of five last year.
5. CsU has a large enrollment and alumni base in comparison with other mwc schools
6. CsU as a school has wayyy more resources than Boise State
7. CsU has access to more local talent than Boise State
I would guarantee if a coach was offered both jobs at the same time he would take the CsU job and it’s not even really close other than Boise has performed better over the last 15 years.
How so? The amount of money the state of Colorado spends on its institutions of higher education is quite meager. What money the schools get I doubt goes to athletics. Or did you mean the students at CSU?The Colorado taxpayers are putting out millions to subsidize CSU. It is what it is.
I mean, I guess in terms of attractiveness for coaches, an argument could be made, but it's definitely not clear cut. Lack of a true rival, I guess. I think about CSU one weekend a year. After that, meh.How the **** does every thread turn into a CSU circle jerk?
1. Facilities are definitely not a small piece to the equation, but good try.I mean, I guess in terms of attractiveness for coaches, an argument could be made, but it's definitely not clear cut. Also...
1. Best facilities = Newest facilities, but also very subjective. I can concede to this, but as we've seen at CU, it's a small piece of the equation.
2. Second best location in MW... I would agree because I'm a Colorado native, but we also believe Boulder is the best location in the country.
3. Attendance numbers are a weak argument when you consider it's tickets sold vs actual attendance. You know full well that student body doesn't support **** in Fort Collins. They may have sold a lot of season tickets for their inaugural year of the stadium, but by mid season, that stadium was 1/3 full.
4. Until today with Bobo's extension, this is factually incorrect
5. Ok...
6. Pretty arbitrary statement
7. Boise recruits better as a whole than CSU, so weird argument on your part.
Agree to disagree. One love, bro1. Facilities are definitely not a small piece to the equation, but good try.
2. Foco is by far the second best location, this isn’t the pac 12 with good destination, they all suck.
3. Every school boosts their attendance numbers so to say CsU is the only one doing it is unfair. Did you see Boise for the championship game? It was a graveyard.
4.oh sorry Bobo was $4 behind Harsin before today and now he is ahead of harsin by $300,000. My point about the highest paid assistant coach in the greater 5 still stands.
6. CsU is a much bigger school with a way bigger endowment, it’s not really arguable. They have more money, raise more money and spend more money.
7. Never said CsU was recruiting better just said there is way more mountain west talent in Denver and the front range than Boise.
I assume he meant academically. On that measure, it's right there with a couple others.
We should ask Sacky, he lives and breathes Boise State I hear.Boise State was a Juco just a couple decades ago. No way they stand up to AFA, CSU, SDSU and others academically.
I was talking about CSU being right at the top academically in the MWC and that was the only way I thought someone could think they were better than Boise State.Boise State was a Juco just a couple decades ago. No way they stand up to AFA, CSU, SDSU and others academically.
