life lesson: never trust anyone who shouts in hashtagsThe only thing that bothers me about Tucker is when someone shouts #integrity over and over, then shows the exact opposite.

To be fair, what he said was relentless. The relentless pursuit of money. The only thing that bothers me about Tucker is when someone shouts #integrity over and over, then shows the exact opposite.
He didn't leave for money, he didn't even let rg counter offer. He never saw himself spending more than a few years here, 100%. He would've taken the msu job with a pay cutAs far as I’m concerned that guy left for money. If there were rumors that RG reneged, as far as I’m concerned those were countermeasures tossed out via the former HC to either make himself look better or ease his conscience.
Are you choosing to believe that because you want your anger to be justified? As far as I’m concerned that guy left for money. Uh…well…umm….no, not at all. I really think my scenario has a lot of merit. And I’m not mad anymore anyway. Are you choosing to believe that because you want your anger to be justified?
Certainly possible. And I agree that he never intended to stick around long, which makes all of his flattery that much more disingenuous. He didn't leave for money, he didn't even let rg counter offer. I found it by searching "I hate myself" on giphy. That is an amazing gif.

I have never understood, and will likely never understand why that wasn't a HUGE conflict of interest. Along with his partner working at CU as well. The admissions leniency issues seem to me to be the most likely to be true. I actually blame RG for overpromising what he could deliver.
It would be highly frustrating to spend all the time and energy necessary to land some big recruits, and then have "the bureaucracy" simply veto all your effort.
The biggest reason I think there's fire behind this particular smoke is because if you ask yourself "which regent would be least likely to support relaxed admissions standards for football players? Who among them would most likely say that we should hold to our standards, despite it costing us?"
There's only one answer.
Now, normally that wouldn't be a big deal. It's just one regent, and there's 9 of them.
Except...
This particular regent literally works at CU.
In the admissions office.
This is why I
A. Believe it is and was an issue, and
B. If RG even implied that he or the school could do better with it, he was either ignorantly dumb, or knowingly selling a crock of ****.
The board literally changed the conflict of interest rules for him. Pissed me off to no end.I have never understood, and will likely never understand why that wasn't a HUGE conflict of interest. Along with his partner working at CU as well.
This last part assumes people who voted for him actually understood who he was and where he worked and didn’t just check the name with the “D” next to itThe board literally changed the conflict of interest rules for him. Pissed me off to no end.
The board was put into a hard position - they had a legitimately elected regent. What they should have done was make him quit his job or resign as regent.
But the real blame lies with the Denver democrats who actually nominated and elected someone who had such an absurd conflict of interest.
I'm blaming the party leadership not necessarily the voters. The local party leaders have far, far more influence on who wins down ballot nominations than many people realize. This last part assumes people who voted for him actually understood who he was and where he worked and didn’t just check the name with the “D” next to it

And those assholes knew damn well he had an absurd conflict of interest, but pushed him anyway.
The party should have never allowed him to run. That’s definitely a party issue. They should know better. They were lazy. This last part assumes people who voted for him actually understood who he was and where he worked and didn’t just check the name with the “D” next to it
Ahh it all makes so much more sense now.Through out history people have been executed even after showing emprical evidence. Cancel culture is a product of the arrogance of so called leftist snobs.
It's been posted/discussed in Barzil a while back.me too. many posters hint at knowing something but nobody here elaborates. I'm assuming this is one of those topics where we need to purchase a 247 membership if we want the low-down.
Meh, enough time has passed. If anyone recalls Rezjohn Wright (plays for Oregon State), he was a silent commit at CU but then eventually committed/signed with Oregon State because he wasn't going to be admitted to CU. Admissions leniency was absolutely one of the issues RG promised to MT and either knew he was lying or is as stupid as I think he is. Probably both. The admissions leniency issues seem to me to be the most likely to be true. I actually blame RG for overpromising what he could deliver.

I remember seeing him in the Husky game and thinking “wasn’t he one of our commits?” Would be nice to have him in the black and goldMeh, enough time has passed. Hiring attractive young women to support recruiting of male athletes makes a ton of sense.Seems as though Tucker had attractive women working in the recruiting dept. What 18 year old guy doesn't feel special when a 25 year old hottie is messaging him constantly about how much we need him to come here? I know this got some people all upset. Does that work better than Bob Lopez doing it?
And if Tucker could get Alfano into CU, how hard was admissions?
I honestly just don't think enough people care about CU football and Tucker knew that. We had a supporters get together at a brewpub in Longmont and Tucker was there and we had perhaps 150 people show up. At a real football school, we'd had 1500 or 15000.
Rezjohn was actually a verbal commit until admissions denied him.Meh, enough time has passed. Ah yeah you are correct. I couldn't remember if it was a public commit. But yes, the change of heart was entirely academic. He was fully on board.Rezjohn was actually a verbal commit until admissions denied him.
Admissions is a major issue and not sure how it gets fixed.
Of course you're rooting for them. How many 1-2 year stints does Tucker have on his resume? Even Todd Graham thinks hes a job hopper.I actually find myself rooting for MSU and Tucker a bit, but I don't know if it's because they've been good for the betting account or what. Regardless, I'm no longer bitter about him leaving because I think Rick George sold him a bill of goods that he didn't follow through on.
Are you Qerg?Okay lol.
I am bored. Time to get back to football.
Yep. Wright and the other guy who ended up at OSU. Lost two recruits because of denied admissions.Ah yeah you are correct. I couldn't remember if it was a public commit. But yes, the change of heart was entirely academic. He was fully on board.
