NET Watch 2020

Yesterday: Clemson lost at UVA and Northern Iowa rolled at Valpo.

Today, Thursday 2/6, games we care about:

Colorado hosts Cal (6pm, PACN). We better win this one.

Sacramento State at Weber State (7pm, no tv).

USC at Arizona (7pm, ESPN2). Better for us if USC wins.

Stanford at Utah (8pm, PACN). Better for us in the standings if Utah wins, but Stanford maintaining Q1 would be useful.

UC Irvine hosts UC Davis (8pm, no tv).

San Diego hosts Saint Mary's (9pm, ESPNU). Upset would be real nice here. Not to be expected, but it would be nice.

UCLA at ASU (9pm, ESPN2). Not sure the result here matters much for us.

Loyola Marymount at Gonzaga (9pm, CBSSN). We want Loyola, but... uhhhh... stranger things really have not happened.

Yesterday:
Our mighty Buffaloes took care of business (hint: don't watch the replay, just accept that we got the win and move on).
Arizona beat USC.
Utah beat Stanford.
ASU beat UCLA.
UC Irvine beat UC Davis.
Sac State, Loyola Marymount and San Diego all lost. (Toreros would have beaten Saint Mary's if they could have made FTs, damnit!)

Today, Friday 2/7, games we care about:

Iona at Quinnipiac (5:30, ESPN3). Iona sucks, but an upset wouldn't be unreasonable.

That's it.

Yesterday: Iona actually won by 21 on the road. Go figure.

Today, Saturday 2/8, games we care about:

#24 Colorado hosts Stanford (4pm, PACN). Should be a slowed-down, defensive game in the 60s if Furd is able to dictate pace. CU favored by 8.5.

#3 Kansas at TCU (10am, ESPN2). KU has been rolling, but conference road games are conference road games.

#6 Dayton hosts St. Louis (12pm, CBSSN). 13.5 point favorites over a 17-6 team? Dayton's been playing great.

Northern Iowa hosts Drake (2pm, ESPN3). UNI has been getting some run as a potential Top 25 team and is favored by 9. Drake's 16-8, so no slouch.

Wyoming at New Mexico (4pm, no tv). Pokes suck, but they've been competitive the last week.

Prairie View A&M hosts Texas Southern (4:30pm, no tv). Winner is alone in 1st in the SWAC. PVAM also 11-11, so this would get them to a winning record.

Cal at Utah (6pm, PACN). I'm not sure we care who wins this one.

Sacramento State at Idaho State (7pm, no tv). Sac State has ben awful lately. This is a great opportunity for a road win.

UCLA at #23 Arizona (8pm, ESPN2). We'd prefer UCLA due to standings & having 2 games vs them. But people in hell want ice water, too.

San Diego hosts Portland (8pm, no tv). Toreros played better in the Saint Mary's game this week. Good chance for a home win.

UC Irvine at UC Santa Barbara (8pm, ESPNU). Tough road game in conference play with UCI trying to dominate the league this year and currently in 1st.

USC at ASU (8pm, not seeing tv but has to be at least on a PACN regional). Go giant meteor!

#14 Oregon at Oregon State (8:30pm, PACN). OSU could help us in the standings, but next week when we play is what really matters.

Thanks @Buffnik, this helps me take my mind off of things...

Yesterday: yeah, I'm a little early. Sue me. It was one of the best days ever!

#24 Colorado beat Stanford.
#3 Kansas beat TCU.
#6 Dayton beat St. Louis.
Northern Iowa beat Drake.
UCLA beat #23 Arizona.
Oregon State beat #14 Oregon.
ASU beat USC.
Utah beat Cal.
Prairie View A&M beat Texas Southern. Sacramento State beat Idaho State. San Diego beat Portland.
Wyoming lost to New Mexico and UCI lost to UCSB.

Today, Sunday 2/9, games we care about:

Iona at Fairfield (12pm, ESPN+). They both suck. Possible win.
Clemson hosts Notre Dame (4pm, ACCN). Would be a nice win for Clemson. They need it.
Washington at Washington State (4pm, ESPNU). Washington can still make the Dance but they need to start winning.

Was watching BTN at work, and they're already starting with the "the committee is disrespecting us" BS. Guy saying MD is a clear 2 seed and said PSU should be a 4 seed. Ridiculous.

Moving past Villanova and Ohio St. we're up 2 spots to number 16 in net this morning.

Our Oregon St loss is now in Quad 2 instead of Quad 3.

As of now we have no bad loses on our resume.

Before yesterday's games Palm has us as a 5 seed and Lunardi has us as a 6 seed. Will the aforementioned factors move us up to a 4 seed?
That damn NCAA seeding preview came out a day early...

Sounds like they're splitting hairs. Sure on Gameday they had Maryland as a 2 and PSU as a 4 but Maryland was the lowest 2-seed and PSU the lowest 4-seed on ESPN's top 16.

Where is CSU as a quad win? They're like 17-8 with an easy-ass schedule to end the season (other than a guaranteed thumping at SDSU). If they keep playing the way they have, they might get a tournament bid, as crazy as that seems.

That %}^#*%+%^ing Oregon State loss. Somehow, someway that is going to mess with CU.
Oregon St moved up to #68 with their win yesterday, making that game a Quad 2 loss. Obviously things can move but no Quad 3 losses right now.

They’re Quad 2 right now (#96). They’d need to move up to #75 for it to be a Quad 1.

Q2. #96. Pretty solidly in that 2nd quad.

ND-Clemson is sitll a tight game. ND is a pretty decent team and Mooney is one of the top players in the ACC, leads the conference in rebounding and 6th in scoring. Tie game under 9 minutes left

Palm moves us up to a 4 seed.
The fun thing about this team is you can honestly ask, “Can we get a 3 seed?” Is it a reach? Sure, but I have a ton of confidence that this team has the will and wherewithal to win every game left on the schedule.
