Official 2025 Fall Camp Thread

Exactly what I was thinking. Like, who is the ****ing moron in charge of the worst live mascot in all of college football. Because that’s what Ralphie was and now there is no Buffalo?!
I’m wondering if Prime came back from his medical stuff, having not even thought about it, then just realized “wait, we’re still using Ember? Hell, no we’re not. That thing isn’t going to be an embarrassment to a team I’m coaching. Get rid of her. Now.”

Maybe Blackout is old and lazy enough that she’s calmed down and can be unretired.

Ralphie I was just a random buffalo they decided to trot out into the field one day. There was no training program. This really is ridiculous. We have known for multiple years (not just last year, ever since Ralphie VI debuted) that she was not cut out for this. This is a surprise to exactly nobody, and we are heading into the season without our mascot? Major fail. I don’t know if this is on RG, Prime, or somebody else, but there’s no denying somebody (or multiple somebodies) dropped the ball on this.
She’s been the worst Ralphie we’ve had. Does that make her a terrible animal? No. Just a terrible Ralphie.
Ember was a 2 star Buffalo that should have never been on a P4 team. Good kid, but never should have been here and forgot to hit the transfer portal when Prime came along. I expect a 5 star replacement

This has been in the works since last October. I'm assuming they figured she'd be ready 11 months later.

Yes, Jerry Rice was great for longer and deserves top billing, but peak Randy Moss was better than peak Jerry Rice. Unstoppable.
I saw him play at the end of his career when he was a 49er. I had end zone seats in Arizona for the Cardinals/49ers. I didnt know Moss was playing for the 49ers. The 49ers had the ball near midfield facing the end zone I was in. There was a bubble screen (Chev would have been elated), I saw this very tall WR run through 3 defenders then outran all of the Cardinals DB's for a TD, running directly towards me. He was so tall, smooth and electric fast, even late in his career. I was like 'who the hell is that' had to look in my program. Amazing talent.

SF Moss, old and not even a full time starter, still averaged over 15 yards per reception. But even on that, Rice still chalked up Y/R seasons beyond anything we've ever seen. And a lot of his career was in an era when rules weren't as pass offense friendly (and offenses still used a fullback).

To me, the conversation will always go, "After Jerry Rice...." I actually consider Rice to be the greatest football player who ever lived, not just WR.

Interesting having Rice as the best football player ever. I'm not mad at it. I never thought about overall best ever. You have me thinking 🤔

Same as the LeBron Jordan debate and plenty of other sports. As far as basketball, Jordan is the best I've seen. That is, in my lifetime. In football, it isn't much different. I wasn't alive when Jim Brown was doing his thing, saw LT play some and he was unbelievable. Mainly saw his highlights because I was pretty young. Other sports, same thing.
