Official Construction Update Thread

The stuff right now isn't very exciting anyway. just columns and slabs. once they start getting above the seats, we will all be thankful they keep it where it is.

They have to at least change the angle. No reason any more for the center point to be the east third of the end zone seats. When we zoom, it should be focused on the stuff going on in the NE corner.

Speak for yourself. That is engineering porn for me. Jokes aside, they need another camera angle and I can see the practice fields and spy on the formations.

Gonna be up there this morning. Am going to ask about camera angle versus present construction. Not sure who is responsible but Buff Club should know.

The football team is out on the field doing a walk through right now, so that is at least interesting (hopefully Hawaii is not watching the construction cam, stealing our plays in 15 minute chunks). They might be cleaning up the north-east section now. See some hard-hats milling about there.

This is most likely hairbrained, but does anyone think the unveiling of the new section during the ASU game had any impact on the players? I wonder if it gave them a sense of pride and demonstrating that what they do matters by investing $150M. Like I said, probably silly...

I don't think that's silly at all. Not only would it give me a sense of pride, but a sense of urgency as well. It would make me want to live up to the investment/faith that others are putting into the program.

The NE seats seem to be best value for the $ once they have everything in next season.

After 28 years in 108 row 13 (yes frikin 28 years.... crap that is a long time LOL) gonna try the Champions club in North East corner. View, pending amenities, leg and stand space appealed to me. Value very fair.

Champions club has a really nice field view. Seating option is very comfortable and standing is easy, plus does not obstruct anyone's view behind you. I like to stand so appealing. Chairs are great though. Views of field nice angle and still intimate to the field.

Should be really fun when it is all done which will be next season of course.

Gave input that we need a new camera angle, hopefully that requests makes it up the ladder to the right spot.

High rows better overall view of entire field. Closer rows obviously more intimate to the North endzone.

From there, you'll be able to hear Ralphie breathing before she runs.

I'll consider it as well, which would be a move from 118

I already get all jacked up so when Ralphie and team arrive so I will continue to avoid acting like an adult. LOL

Believe it is going to be very a cool game experience. Sitting there starting Sat. Basically took the middle view, @5 rows up. Seats have angle view up the field a bit which is nice.

They are continuing to do finish work on surfaces and structure in the Champions club area. The endzone seating and Loge (*not sure when TV monitors go into Loge boxes but will eventually) areas looked pretty well finished to me. Really top shelf seating and potential for those areas. Come next Fall that end of the field is going to be very competitive with any other school in terms of those seating options.

The nice thing is that they don't have to sell a ton of seats over there. What do they have? Maybe 300 seats? 500 at the most? I'm pretty sure they can get those seats sold. They are offering some premium perks to make up for the change in view. I don't think they'll have much trouble getting those seats sold. I like what they're doing. I'm looking forward to seeing them complete the West side. I know that's a long way off, but I think the symetrical look will be very cool once completed.

Plus, Folsom becoming pretty much an enclosed bowl will make it loud as ****.

Pics behind what the camera shows. A LOT of rebar. Makes me all hot and heavy.

Thanks, Digger. Just sent some rep.

I'm starting to appreciate the scale of this thing. It's a huge facility for football that will also significantly open up space for other sports.

Game changer.

Definitely.

Also, Champions cub was better than expected pre final build out. Will sell out in rather quick order. Tons of room, great views, little supply. Similar comment from others by us today.

What was your impression of sitting in those tall seats for the entire game? I was able to check out the section before the game with my dad and I wasn't sure what it'd be like to sit there for 3+ hours. I'm tempted to try and get into that section outside of that reservation.

They are tall bar chairs that are free floating. Very comfortable with mess seats. Much more comfortable than the bench seat in the stands honestly. All four of us thought they were allsome. The great thing is you have over 3 feet of room directly behind you so you can literally walk talk or stand, or sit. You can stand without obstructing those behind you.

The space is extremely generous. Two other groups that were next to us in 108 came over and they are moving now as well :)

Not meaning to sound chamber of commerce about it but I was really pleasantly surprised.

I won tix in that section but I hooked up a friend and say with the family in the usual seats. He was pretty stoked. Loved the views. Just said only issue was sun was blaring on him but we all felt that. They are really a great view and set up.

On a sunny afternoon it was definitely a hat and sun glasses location. Sunblock. As Fall proceeds that should be less so.
