I guess if they are moving in Friday they will use the bridge to DW to get in and out? Hard to believe they can use any other entrance with still so much overhead work still happening. I thought the exterior finish effort might wrap this week but it must take a lot more time for all that detail work...
Just got back from touring the new facility. Place is awesome. Lot of work left to be completed though. They are working 24/7 to get it done. I took a lot of pictures and will upload when I get a chance. Btw, looks like the official move in may be pushed back a couple of days because they still need to complete some things to get the temporary certificate of occupancy.
Lots of complex finish work happening in the locker room. Wonder if thats holding them up? Also wonder what they are going to be penalized for not moving in on time.
Don't know but RG was not happy with Mortenson from the sound of it. Also saw signs put up on finished areas reminding workers of penalties if damage occurs.

First sentence is close to being right, but is not correct.Liquidated damages cannot be a penalty and can only cover loss. We use them, for instance, to pay for unanticipated management costs like a project inspector, things like that. We can also charge LD's if an opening fails to occur because the contractor isn't finished and we lose revenue or are paying rent for temporary facilities, or something like that. It cannot just be some arbitrary number. It has to be quantifiable. I'm not sure what the damages would be here.
Another incintive could be an early or on time completion bonus. Say, "If you finish by such and such a date, you get a $1,000,000 bonus" or something. I suppose you could write a penalty into the contract, but both parties would have to agree to it.
Maybe something like that was part of the competitive bid process. The RFP could say, "If the project is not complete by August 1, 2015, the Contractor agrees to pay the owner $10,000 per day until beneficial occupancy is granted" or some such ****. But the owner would then have to be very careful to not cause any delays.
Thanks for clarifying. :lol:First sentence is close to being right, but is not correct.

In order, locker room, players lounge, team meeting auditorium, floor level of the ipf, parking garage under ipf from buff walk, stairs at north end of buff walk (note heated sidewalk), and future home of team store and ticket office at the main public entrance on the north end.
It looks like they are installing platforms for the PV panels.roof tiling has started!
On the west side of the champions center? It looks like they are installing platforms for the PV panels.
PV Panels probably won't go on until the tile is on. Don't think the platforms are permanent.
If they use a white reflective roofing under the PV panels it will not only increase the efficiency, but qualify the contractor for additional tax benefits.
Due to CU's architectural standard, they will not have a white roof. period.
Those platforms are flat places to place the insulation panels so they don't slide down the roof.
New pic from the construction cam shows what the roof will look like. They've finished a good chunk of it.

Bingo. That makes sense.Due to CU's architectural standard, they will not have a white roof. period.

The silver is metal deck, the white is foam sheets, the black is waterproofing sheets, next will be plywood followed by red tiles.
