Why do tht analytics not support your claim? We can’t stop the run.
Is one dude running for 331 yards against us a usable data point? Why do tht analytics not support your claim?
This is ultimately what it will come down to.OL will and can fix everything.
Is one data point across many an outlier or a pattern? Is one dude running for 331 yards against us a usable data point?
Could be, or maybe the data set is suspect. We're good against the run when the run games of our opponents have over performed against weaker D.Is one data point across many an outlier or a pattern?
Loose lips, sink ships.Does the 4-2-5 Work the best against the run?
I feel like many teams can pin the DE inside and then start running in the seams and it is then up to the ILB and CSC to stop it. They have all done an admiral job, but it at times always end up with 5-8 yards.
The DE have to be bigger monsters, and the ILB in a 4-2-5 has to be combo quick to run stop and pass cover.
I also hate to say it, but we have two overachieving Safeties.
Savion Riley is an "X" Factor I am just curious about, and we should work hard to sign 1 or 2 major Portal Safeties
CU has held 9 of 11 opponents below their season averages to this point in the season. CU has been solid against the run, particularly against the traditional RB run game. Kansas is the major outlier.Could be, or maybe the data set is suspect. We're good against the run when the run games of our opponents have over performed against weaker D.
It's a data point out of the full sample size - do you think PFF is just picking and choosing what games and snaps to grade? Is one dude running for 331 yards against us a usable data point?
This.ultimately football is blocking and tackling.
Very jealous at some of those team rushing averages.CU has held 9 of 11 opponents below their season averages to this point in the season. CU has been solid against the run, particularly against the traditional RB run game. Kansas is the major outlier.
UCF is 4th in rushing at 254 ypg. CU held them to 177 yards
KSU is 16th in rushing at 210 ypg, CU held them to 185 yards
Cincy is 39th in rushing at 181 ypg. CU held them 171 yards
Baylor is 44th in rushing at 179 ypg. CU held them to 166 yards
CSU is 45th in rushing at 178 ypg. CU held them to 131 yards
TTU is 73rd in rushing at 158 ypg. CU held them to 113 yards
Utah is 93rd in rushing at 135 ypg. CU held them to 31 yards
Arizona is 119th in rushing at 108 ypg. CU held them to 107 yards
NDSU is 8th in FCS in rushing at 209 ypg. CU held them to 157 yards
Kansas is 14th in rushing at 212 ypg. CU gave up 333 yards rushing
Nebraska is 100th in rushing at 129 ypg. CU gave up 149 yards rushing
Very. Big 12 is a running conference and CU went the opposite direction (for good reason considering our personnel).Very jealous at some of those team rushing averages.
Yes, this is my point. We've defended well against teams that have stats that were accumulated against poorer competition. When we run into a "real" rushing attack we got schooled. I'm not disagreeing that we're performing well in comparison to the rest of the conference, I'm saying that to ignore what actually just happened is an indicator that we are not defending at any elite level.CU has held 9 of 11 opponents below their season averages to this point in the season. Our OL played very good, there was an overall good pocket all day and Shedeur was actually stepping up into it, but we only made a few downfield throws, cause we appeared not to be willing to take a risk.This.
We blocked well at times on Saturday; we made up for it by not tackling.
You're missing the point worse than Yak.It's a data point out of the full sample size - do you think PFF is just picking and choosing what games and snaps to grade?

How am I missing the point? The PFF grade is holistic of the 2024 season & per Yak's numbers the D has held the opponent below their average except for 2 games. You're missing the point worse than Yak.
Not to be too critical but this year the Buffs have been a “basketball on grass” outfit rather than a complete offense. It has worked enough times to make ourselves feel pretty good. Our run defense is predictably abysmal in games since we obviously don’t practice much against the run.
The B12 is weird and we bought into it. The first B12 team that has a consistently stout balanced offense and a quality defense can dominate this rag tag pirate conference. Let’s be that team.
I think our competition long term will be the Kansas schools and ISU. That’s where it appears the other good coaches are.
Seeing as how Prime said "coaches included" during his post game speech, seems like something Dmac listened to a 10 second soundbite and that's itMan - ****ing dmac can be such a douche. He is trying his best to turn Prime's 'smelling our own success' comment into him blaming the kids for a loss when it was really a coaching failure.
Luckily Polumbus is shutting him down at every turn. Even Hastings is saying dmac is being dumb.

Leipold is the best coach in the Big 12, imo.Leipold will leave KU at some point. They also have like 30 seniors including a lot of covid years, so they probably have a large rebuild. They didn't build via the portal.
You're passing over Sitake and Dillingham. Sitake is probably going to be Big 12 COY.
More than anything though, you're overreacting. KU is a good team that for since reason choked up 5 games early on but is probably going to end up going bowling and oh by the way just became the first team ever to beat three straight ranked teams despite having a losing record in all three.
Sometimes you just get your ass beat by a good team. I think the majority of us were gripping about this game, and for good reason, it turns out.
