Official CU vs TCU Game Thread - 10/4 @ 5:30 MT on FOX

How stupid lol. We’ve been competitive in every game but 1. We might choke away a lead and find a way to lose but thinking that this years Arizona team will stomp us when GT/TCU couldn’t is just pure emotions talking
So instead of proposing anything contrary, you lean on the transitive property and then agree with an L. “How stupid lol”

There's not a living OSU fan who would agree with you. It's Walker by a mile. And in 3 weeks when CU is 2-6 and CP is 10-18 vs P-4 opponents while having beaten absolutely no team of consequence, the talk will be even louder. What kind of coach is he without being able to recruit his own son?
Ok, let's concede Walker is better by a mile. That's an even bigger indictment of the program that the best player by a mile is generating such missing production.

You hate Prime, and there's no changing your opinion. Have a nice day.

I'm unhappy with how the QB situation was handled this year, and how the investment in Salter could have been better used in the secondary or with linebackers. I'm not about to thank the ripcord on a roster that is still miles ahead of where it was from 2018-2022.

No I don’t “agree with the L”. It’s a possibility similar to how the last couple plus GT have gone. But we will be favored and likely win that game by more than 1 score. Arizona is bad from a talent and coaching perspective. We’re only bad in one of those areas. There’s you’re contrary. You’re being disingenuous

Slight caveat on Arizona. They’re 4-1 and Fifita is playing well. Any team with a B+ or better QB has the potential to give CU’s DBs major fits.

Brent Brennan hasn’t completely turned the ship around from last season, but Ariz is a visibly improved team. It’s good for the Buffs that the game is in Boulder.

I agree he’s got them better than expected but they have also only played two teams with a pulse. And one of them, KSU, was without Dylan Edward’s who obviously is a major piece of their offense and they were lost without him. The DBs did pretty well last night when we were in zone. Livingston just has to realize we don’t play man well and stick with zone and we can do enough to win. I have faith in Livingston to recognize this and adjust, unless Prime gives him a mandate to stick with man.

Hykeem is the prototype, he’s ridiculously talented (arguably the most physically gifted and talented WR on the team) and I don’t get why he hasn’t gotten more run.
Without any inside knowledge, probably some dumb practice or effort bull****, the classic Prime for not having the better guy on the field. That play he made on third to keep the drive alive was physically insane.

There's a line between having ambitious standards that head to greatness, and setting standards that the vast majority of people will never meet.

I worry that Prime sets unrealistic standards.

He really needs to be the football General Manager (whatever Andrew Luck is doing)
agreed. CU has been outcoached in 75% of the games he's coached since he got here. Let him be the figure head but get competent people, who he doesn't have loyalty to, in as the tacticians.

One of Prime's greatest strengths is his confidence. One of his greatest flaws is not knowing when his confidence is actually hubris.

I also think that standard works better for people like Saban or Kirby when the guy behind the most talented person is still more talented than the majority of other players across the country. Not when your backup couldn’t start on any other P4 team

I've accused him of this in year 1 but this year, he's way more delusional. The reason is, they have the overall talent but he knows they lack studs and many starters, especially on defense

One downfall is that he told us that this year’s team would be better. It’s not.

I do think it’s possible that they are actually a better team, but there are significantly worse at the most important position which makes them a team that gets worse outcomes. This is a 5-1, top 25 team if they have above average QB play 🤷‍♂️
And the QB doesn’t have to be SS good. Move the chains and don’t turn the ball over. A QB like Hoover last night would be a huge upgrade over what we have at starting QB right now.

There is a good chance Hoover will be drafted higher than SS. Hoover is a stud college quarterback.

Spot on.

They are better at a number of position groups. Unfortunately they don't have the QB who can overcome the rough spots that come, they also don't have the QB who can overcome the absolute missuse of talent that comes from the OC.

I think he said that this team is deeper, and hinted at it not necessarily being better by pointing out that two greats had moved on.
Takes a lot to make up for losing a generational college QB talent, takes more to overcome losing a Heisman trophy winner who was not only a game breaker on offense but a guy who made huge, game winning plays on defense.

There were at least three games last year that the Buffs won instead of lost specifically because of defensive plays Travis made.

Short of being one of the bluest of blue bloods, I don't think there are any teams that don't take a step back after losing the Heisman, Unitas, Biletnikoff winners, and the guy who should have won the Thorpe. They really lost 3 greats.
