I've known a number of people with military backgrounds (including a couple here.) My guess is that his military background consisted mostly of a joystick, a monitor, and some clothing bought at a surplus store.
And yes it is no surprise that he didn't even show before the game much less after, things have changed.
Agreed...but without the jumping. I adjusted my game plan after the first tuddy.

Agree with the rush defense part. As for pass protection, that was the shakiest we’ve looked the out of the last four games. For the entire first half, our only offense came from scramble drill and Shedeur avoiding one or more would be tacklers that got to him relatively quickly. Overall, it was still decent, but Utah definitely had a solid pass rush going. Unfortunately for them, 2 is just too quick wit it.

I have watched the game a couple times over, and the thing that’s sticking out to me is how well the DBs but especially McKinney stuck with their man on slot motion in to a quick out on the motion back. That’s such a tough route to defend when they are just trying to get 5/6 yards. And we crushed it majority of the time yesterday. It was the reason we got the sack on their first drive after the pick.
DJ McKinney is a star. Should be on video game covers once 12 enters the draft. Colton is a very good CB but we're blessed having DJ.
A Ute fan was next to us too...I reminded him that UU is now BYUs little brother in this conference. He was not pleased.

Honestly, if it wasn't for LaVell Edwards, the Holy War would look a lot like the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
ETA: when Edwards took over, the Holy War was 39-5-4 in favor of Utah. Edwards went 22-7 against Utah and closed the gap a bit, but it's been 13-6 Utah since.

Coach Prime in the presser (regarding Coach Whittingham) mentioned several times "whatever happens there" referring to Kyle's future.
Made it sound to me that either Kyle expects to be fired (no way that is happening) or is stepping down (would make a lot of sense).
I think he's about to turn 65, has stated publicly that he does not want to coach beyond that age, and he is at a even larger disadvantage in the NIL age. BYU just has more money to throw around. When he does step down, he has a 5 year deal at $1M per to be a special advisor.

It was made public that Morgan Scallet will succeed Wittingham as the next HC. I don’t think a definitive timeline was mentioned but the rumors were that this was going to be his last year. It has to be a frustrating way for KW to go out, though.
I always thought Edwards looked just like Crankshaft from the Sunday newspaper comics.
