My mom called me this morning to ask how the game went, she likes to hear about the Buffs but she doesn’t follow football. The end of the convo made so proud. :’)

“The sad thing is, most teams haven’t even played a game yet.”

My mom: “but CSU has played twice already and lost both.”

I’m posting about that on our CU message board.”

I like your mom.

Good first game. There were some issues in the secondary and receivers dropping passes. But overall good pre season game.
The secondary worried me a little. There were some good plays, but overall, it seemed like when the QBs were actually able to get the ball off, the receivers were able to catch it. The DL did a great job of preventing just that scenario for the most part. But when we go up against better competition with a more mobile QB is what worries me.

That being said, our DBs hit like mother-****ers.

After rewatching again this AM, I was even more impressed by Delrick Abrams. He went against Preston Williams for a lot of the game and neutralized him. As the game got further out of reach, Delrick was an even more willing tackler in the run game.

It’s not often that a P5 team can just find a number one corner in the Juco ranks after getting their last one drafted to the NFL. But, it appears that the staff have done just that.

wat?

2 dropped.
I get what he's saying - they were "concentration" drops; uncontested against grossly inferior competition. Hard to argue with Shenault and his one drop after the night he had, but still, that particular drop...I'm kind of at a loss for words to explain what I feel about that.

Kiszla made mention of it this morning in his column where he compares Montez to Tom Brady:

I thought Montez was sharp, but could be sharper. That's crazy.
The D got better as the game went on. Landman is a FOOTBALL Player

I will freely admit that was not the offense I expected to see.
I’m just giving you a hard time. I don’t think anybody expected to see that kind of offensive gameplan. I had more confidence in Chev than many, but never thought I’d see that kind of creativity and scheme. As darth said, next week will be a much better test.

I don’t know if it was me being pretty heavily intoxicated, but it seemed like when Chev wanted to, we were running plays at an Oregon- Chip Kelly kind of tempo. Very very impressed with the team getting set so quickly
