Mines is a public school but many years back the legislature approved a plan that in return for lower funding allows them more control over how they operate. Couldn't find the details to post here.

They get substantially more money in both donations and in research grants than they get from the state.

Quick point of interest, in order to increase access and affordability for in-state students they have a program where students can enroll in a pre-engineering program at Red Rocks Community College at CC prices but with classes taught by Mines professors and then have guaranteed transfer of those classes to Mines for the final two years of a bachelors program.

If you’re not doing so, turn on the CURE Bowl on ABC. Playing in a monsoon. 10 fumbles, 1 int already. It’s wild.

So embarrassing to be undefeated and playing for a legit NC. GMAFB, Lama

Go Mines!

It wasn't the prettiest offense and I doubt that it would succeed against D1 schools that have the resources to scout and prepare more fully for a team like them, but you can't argue with how effective they were at running it. They also had a defense that was designed to crush teams that are trying to come back.
