Actually seems like it would be a really solid hire. Only negative is the lack of experience in that level of role. I'm not honestly familiar with the normal career trajectory of a conference commissioner though. Is AD viewed as just 1 step below?

Wilner has spent the last few months telling everyone how not surprised he would be to see the Pac 12 blow the hire. If it's a horrible hire, it shouldn't shock him. Then again, it could be SO bad that is actually does shock him

Clearly a hire with the emphasis on media deals and making money. Getting good "football people" in place as his Lieutenants would make this a really good hire.
If this moves conference operations to Las Vegas, I am all for it.
