Don’t give our admin any ideas.
Looking at the last five years 2017-current, FIU has won 24 games and been to three bowls. CU has won 22 and gone to one bowl. Let that one sink in.
They’d still beat CU.

I think we'll be at more posts with this carousel before the end of the year than any other year.
Get new coach before early signing.
When I started the carousel years ago, it was to do something in December since the Buffs could not get bowl eligible. I like the fact others are as into it, maybe more so, than I am. I cannot believe this thread has become such a staple when we could be speculating on which bowl the Buffs would get if they could just manage to somehow get to .500. Such a low standard, you have to work to miss it 14 out of last 16 years. And RG tells us to be patient.....

Holy ****- if they had waited a month it would have saved them $2.5M on the buyout ($7.5M on Dec. 15 vs. $10M until then).
They should hire MacIntyre.
I couldn't be more excited. I'm taking the timing as a sign that (1) some BMD's have stepped up like never before (2) VT is serous about getting a good coach and wants to get on the carousel before the top candidates are taken.
Another factor is teams want to get a coach in place before early signing day. That's why we're seeing more in-season changes than prior to when early signing day was around.

Actually he would be a good fit there. Will maintain what Cutcliffe had going. He is the same type of coach.
I believe that was his point. MM is from Cutcliffe's coaching tree
I remember when they Hired Fuente and my VT fan coworker was over the moon. So hard to get the right coach
Hiring a head coach is always a risk. For every up and coming hot shot like Urban Meyer (when at Utah) there’s ten guys like Dan Hawkins, Charlie Strong, and Scott Frost who are universally praised as the next can’t miss HC. All the more reason to stick to whatever plan you come up with and keep hiring guys who fit that mold as opposed to chasing the latest sexy name.
