Travis Hunter Appreciation Thread (Awards: HE12MAN, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff, Bednarik, Lott, Paul Hornung, AP PotY)

So I'm probably just late to the party, but Travis is the first Heisman winner to also be an Academic All-American since 2007. He is just too good to be true.

I'm choosing to believe that the fact that the Heisman winner/Academic All-American in 2007 was Tim Tebow says more about the University of Florida than the Heisman or the Academic All-American process.

Tebow doesn't come across as the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have no doubt that guy would have shown up and applied himself to his responsibilities. Couple that with an athlete path for his coursework and even without knowing I would have guessed he was an Honor student.

I don't want to derail the thread, but it was widely known during his days in Denver that Tebow wasn't very quick on the uptake and they had to significantly cut back the playbook for him.

He must have had significant help in Gainesville.

I just checked out her tiktok channel for a moment. It's mostly typical social media nonsense except with Travis Hunter cameos.

I am convinced that he gives no ****s what anyone thinks about him at all.
He made a short video. He was pretty pissed. I don't think he cares about what people say about him, but it obviously affects his girlfriend and Im sure he cares about that.

He grew up in Brazil? Wow! Must’ve been Southern Brazil. And he was the number one draft pick in the PBR draft, drafted by the Florida Freedom? And he’s the youngest cowboy in PBR history to top $1 million? Dayum! Not the rodeo I grew up up with!

Was this in English? :ROFLMAO:

I like him even more now that I know he's got that Papa/ Mama Bear gene. That "you got a problem, you take it up with me, but if you go at my loved ones you're going to have a bigger and different problem." Respect.

Family's off limits. (Should probably add this to the TOS.)

Obviously all the focus is and should be on Travis, but this hit me while driving this morning. Prime has to now be the coach with the fewest years of FBS coaching experience to have a Heisman winner right? I can’t imagine any others did that in 2 years or less of FBS coaching. Insane.
Pretty sure Lincoln Riley had Heisman winners his first two years as a head coach. Coach Prime's gotta pick it up!
Riley had been the OC of that Oklahoma team for 2 years before taking over as head coach.

I think where Bread is going with this is that Riley had been working in a capacity in BCS level coaching since 2003 so he had 12 years of D1 coaching experience prior to being a head coach.

Prime on the other hand is currently in his second year of coaching in any capacity at the BCS level including his time at Jackson State in his 4th year of college coaching at any level.

You might be able to find individuals who had success including a Heisman winner who came from the pro coaching ranks, don't know and am not going to look it up but for a guy to be in his fourth year of college coaching and only his second at the BCS level and be doing what he is doing is unique to say the least.

I'm on it, too.

My sarcasm isn’t for everyone, apparently.
