We now take you to Ann Arbor Michigan

Seems to me that if any of the sports books have material losses from getting the lines wrong that they would have both the standing and the pocketbook to sustain litigation.
Sportsbooks have gotten nothing from actual fixed football (foot) matches. They ain’t getting anything from UMich.

If they were doing this consistently wouldn’t that get baked into the predictions? It would only mess with lines if they only did it for select games.

The games would be off the board or limited severely if they made any material changes to the lines because of suspected improper benefits.

My point is the opposite. If they did this for every game, it would just make MI defense or coaching look better and the predictive models would learn that intrinsically with whatever stats that model is built on.

There are protocols around “non-sporting” advantages enjoyed by teams. They don’t bake those into the price. They remove them or limit them. Most bookies underrated Michigan’s advantages if they knew every opponent’s in game signs.

Reading the replies, it's shocking to me how many fans think they know more about what constitutes gaining an unfair advantage than professional coaches.

But I guess it shouldn't surprise me. We also think we're better talent scouts, game & clock managers, and playcallers than professional coaches.

Kiffin went on to say: "Wish I'd thought of it."

All the swinging Richards in a measuring contest are still dicks. Shut down the whole b10 and exclude them from everything. Merge the b12 and sec. Leave cfb to the apparently pure of heart and idealists who believe in the goodness of college football.

You said SEC and pure of heart in the same sentence.

it is now becoming clear that the b10 is the dirtiest collection of cheating misfits and criminals in all of college football.

kill the whole conference.

we need to be associated with paragons of virtue like ol miss and auburn.

Instead we will be with sterling examples like Baylor.

i feel almost possibly ready to forgive bailer on a go forward basis.

the scurrilous scandals and treachery in the b10 are current and should be dealt with, most severely.

how many pedo, rape, racist, cheating, hazing programs have to sweep their **** under the rug before justice is served.

death penalty for the lot of them. restore honor to cfb.

I was told that some damning evidence has emerged after Harbaugh has been adamantly denying any knowledge of the scheme.
My friend just told me that any Harbaugh suspension by the school appears to be off the table and, instead, Michigan is “going nuclear.” They will fight any punishment from the conference and release more information on other schools cheating. They are said to have hired “the top investigative law firm in the country“ to dig for more dirt and officially tie the PI firm back to OSU. Mutual assured destruction scenario…..

Is your friend known as "JJ McCarthy Fan" on Twitter?

And I thought no one would touch Rudy Giuliani after the Four Seasons Total Landscaping press conference.

I find it interesting that Michigan was ready to suspend him last Saturday for lying to the President and AD about his knowledge of the scheme, but now seems to have forgotten that part since this evidence of other schools colluding has come out. I mean, the guy still lied to your face……

if the whole b10 is brought to its knees, right when ****ing usc joins, that right there would be a win for the ages.

the price of bailer acceptance is a high price, but we've already joined a conference with that scum. therefore, let's be strategic and **** anyone who isn't us.

When things become driven by money to the extent they have within such a competitive environment, it's predictable that we'd eventually have another conference kill a great thing by eating it's own the way the SWC once did. 🍿

While I would love to see the top programs in the Big Ten totally destroy each other's credibility, this really sounds like Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, as Hank noted above. A bunch of threats and hints at evidence but most likely nothing to back any of it up.

Baylor is Baylor, they haven't changed and they deserve no acceptance nor do they deserve forgiveness.

They are however a separate issue than that of the Big 10.

We know that Big 10 doesn't refer to the number of schools or states in the conference. The only reasonable conclusion is that it refers to the list of the top felonies committed by each member.

Baylor can't help being who they are but that is not necessarily a reflection on the rest of the conference.

In contrast the Big 10 shows a cultural commonality. It is not a question of if new and additional felony activities will be linked to Big 10 athletic programs, it is only a question of when (soon) and which school or schools, and all have their moments.

We have seen everything from criminal hazing to serial sexual assault of minors.

Putting the entire conference off the field for a year or two (or more) may just be the example that all schools including the SEC, ACC and others to clean up their acts.
