What should be the plan at QB & who is the starter this week?

Option 1: Start him at home against a beatable team who lost both it’s starting cornerbacks

Option 2: against Utah, a team CU has never played well against on the road, that typically plays disciplined and tough.

The bye week exists for him in both scenarios …

Colorado has actually played generally well against Utah on the road as a heavy underdog with multiple close calls and one surprising win.

Option 1 please.

Has Juju and his father decided to make sure he redshirts just in case he wants 4-years of college football, whether at Colorado or somewhere else? That is what feels weird about the hesitancy. A True QB coach also feels like the missing link, so wonder what that situation is?

He can have 4 years of college football without Redshirting.

Nobody likes the answer, but it's gotta be Salter. Dance with who brung ya. Juju needs seasoning. Don't throw him to the wolves.

Eh, **** it, the season is over, start JuJu.
Where the **** does this narrative come from that "JUJU NEEDS SEASONING?"

This is complete nonsense and was only floated out there because this inept fvcking staff didn't want a QB controversy to start the year after they paid Salter a sh!t ton of money to come in and be a complete failure.

No packages. That's silly to me. I would start Staub against ISU and Utah-I don't know if I want our prized QB recruit playing against a team like Utah in SLC.

That November though.....especially if we're 2-7? There's no reason not to play him. Arizona at home is a great place for a first start, and WVU/KSU are going to be good road environments for him because those two will have packed it in by then too.
This post REEKS OF IDIOCY.

If you believe there’s a way to beat ISU with JuJu, you do it. If it’s a toss up regardless of the qb, protect the redshirt.
You can absolutely beat ISU with Juju. Simply because Shurmur can lean more heavily on the run game while also opening up the playbook with a QB who actually knows how to make pre/post-snap reads and deliver incredibly accurate passes further than 10 yards downfield. Juju was a better QB (not athlete) than Salter was the day he arrived on campus. That hasn't changed.

Interesting post, thanks. Good research. I hope that JuJu isn't a bust and I don't expect him to be, but if he is, Allbuffs will have an absolute world class diaper-filling meltdown of historic proportions.

So, are you saying we stick with Salter?

Unless JuJu is pushing to redshirt, he plays. The redshirt is worthless in this situation. He will not be here more than 4 years and likely 3 depending on his development. If he is not developing in the CU system by year 3 he is gone to another program. If he is developing and progressing like everyone thinks, he will be moving on after 4 year at the most to the NFL. Red shirts for skill spots are a dead animal unless there is an injury
No one on "Team Juju" is pushing a RS, nor are they looking at a 5-year career. No one. You can take that as FACT.

IF THEY LOSE? Salter has had so much rope, it is incredible, and you have a home game coming up

Sad choice if it is.
Juju would get a lot of support this week at home, and Iowa State is beatable through the air
At Utah will be very hostile and loud, and having the bye week to work on what he felt at home was working or not would be helpful
This staff cannot get out of their own way
This staff is not going to have any players left next year with decisions like this.

Curious as to how you know JuJu can do all that? He didn't do that in anything us normal fans have had access to.

Da Lama, you seem to walk into battles where there are none. I think most on this board are fine to roll with Juju if he is ready. We just have no evidence that he is. He had a great prep career, played against good prep competition, and all of us are excited to see him play successfully.

At the same time, the backup QB is always the savior and we can only go with what the coaches elect to do. If they’re not playing him, then they don’t think he’s ready.

And if he does play this year, suggesting that he make his first start at home against a weaker Arizona team isn’t the worst thing.

But if Juju is ready, send him out against ISU. Nobody is pining for Salter at this stage.

Inside JuJu Lewis' Recruiting Rankings - and the honest truth about what to expect if Lewis is CU's QB1 the rest of the season.

This post has a twist that is very on-brand for CU football.
Good writeup.

JuJu is like a 10-star for Colorado fans however. What we've seen so far is a much better arm than Salter. But Elway tried to find a QB with a cannon arm for years and how did that work out?

I'm just guessing at how well he commands the offense, does he have his reads down, can he make good decisions under pressure? Is he able to go through his progressions? Is he accurate, or is poor foot work a detriment?

We just haven't seen him enough to know how he can react in a game situation. Whether he starts this Saturday or not, I can only hope we see enough of him to know.

When we did see him, we didn't see him with all of the starters either. His two drives against Delaware were full line changes other than the Oline. His receivers were Gibson, Farrakhan, and Timmons, and his RB was Price. It was Old Man Timmons and the kids on JuJu's drive, but those guys didn't play much the rest of the game with Salter or Staub (Gibson was out there a bit) and have not been the starters the rest of the season.

I would bet Brown, Williams, and the Millers would like to have a QB that can throw it to them when they're breaking and open and not three seconds later after their routes lead them into double coverage.

Da fuq is a "regressions?"

We're all good around here. I'll just say that playing Juju as soon as possible is critical for the team this year and next year.

THERE IS NO OTHER ANSWER:

JUJU

Do what? Can you clean up your question? It's not making sense.

It's a freaking GOLAZO and I freaking love it!!! He can beat every opposition.

Have you ever almost wanted a player to fail just because one poster had such over the top positive takes about them before they’d accomplished literally anything?

Play Salter until you are up 14-0. Then you give JuJu a look and if he doesn't look the part, you rotate series with Salter and Staub in the 4th QTR. Complete Chaos and Unpredictable is the Goal. Lining Staub and Salter up in the same backfield would be a Bonus.
