Official 2017 Coaching Carousel Thread - Zona hires Sumlin

Donte Williams would need some extreme vetting. I think he i$ dirty af - I’ve read some rumors (one from a relative of a recruit) and I don’t trust him. And maybe we are dirty too, but I think if we operate under the assumption that everything is run cleanly in recruiting, then he would be a suspicious hire.

He also butted heads with Diaco and refused to work with him. Not only did Nebraska’s DBs suck, but their position coach “wouldn’t go within 30 feet” of their DC. Probably not a good match with MM.

I bet he ends up at UCLA, as Demetrice Martin turned Kelly down (and based on his twitter, seems to be joining Bradford at USC).

Not sure what your fascination with Walters is...........Chiaverini (say what you want about the performance of his unit this season) is an upgrade.

I think Walters is right up there with Chiv and we could use everyone at both of these guys levels!!! Walters is a big part of the talent and ability of the 2016 team. I will take both of them over pretty much all the rest of our recruiters.

Nice. Now we are projecting 2019 victories as well?

Yep Duff, I would make the way to early spread on this game about Buffs -2 since it is a home game, and the Buffs might be 7-5 in 2018, and the Skers likely are 6-6 in 2018, and considering both teams will want to score like crazy, the Total would be pretty high like 72. I will keep track for the next 21 months to see how I did.

Meh. No he's not. Chiaverini brought the tempo stuff with him when he came from TT, and that, more than anything took the offense to another level.

The department's New Leadership Model will be similar to an NFL approach using a general manager structure. It's a collaborative approach to managing the ASU football program that includes sport and administrative divisions, which will operate as distinct, but collective units focused on elevating all aspects of Sun Devil Football. This structure will allow the department to form a multi-layered method to the talent evaluation and recruiting processes, increase its emphasis on both student-athlete and coach development and retention, and provide a boost in resource allocation and generation.

From the ASU press release

Tennessee looks brilliant right now.

From 2006 through 2014, the now ASU AD Ray Anderson worked in the NFL office under Roger Goodell. He's an attorney. Hiring Herm is way outside the box type of thinking and it seems like a stretch.

I actually think edwards will do well there. Especially if it's a ceo type roll. Dude is intense and brings the angry, his teams will play with fire and bitterness.

His NFL teams didn’t.

What he will do is be a high character guy who will help with some of their internal issues. Probably results in solid first year or 2 and then results decline just as happened in NY & KC.

I can’t say I disagree unfortunately. Game 2 of a season with a new coach? They’ll be fired up. If MM and CU have any pride we will show up and give them a fight but somewhere deep down I have this feeling we’re just going to roll over. This team hasn’t had a no bull****, punch you in the mouth mentality in a long ass time. It won’t stop me from watching and being hopeful next year. But I want someone to show me something, I want the coaches, team and new recruits to show up and show us what they want Buffs football to be.
You miss last year?

Obviously folks just don't appreciate the power of Matrix Management. This just might work, just takes a little imagination :

My ASU alum buddy can't believe they hired Herm and thinks it will end poorly. He was saying this weekend the AD should be fired.
