Virginia is in deep deep **** right now. I’ve been adamant about my support for Virginia winning the whole thing, but go UMBC!
 
I heard UMBC's coach talk last week when I was watching something with their conference tournament. His strategy on how he built that program was on the Villanova model: recruit the most offensively skilled players you can and hope you can coach them to play defense.

While I think there's room for glue guys, perimeter stopper and rim protectors sprinkled into a roster so I'm not willing to go as far, I have to admit that in basketball great offense will usually beat great defense.
 
YES! Please happen! Too bad this will overshadow Arizona’s loss though.
 
So great. I mean, a team that walks it up the court every time, even when down by double digits late in the second half? That's not a team worthy of moving on.
 
Here's a situation where I might actually take not going to the tournament over a "first in history" loss.
 
Wow. Unpopular opinion here but I feel bad for UVA, Bennett seems like a great guy

Damm how I wish this had been KU or UNC, I'd be laughing for about 2 days straight!
 
How does Virginia respond next year? This has to weigh heavy on the psyche of any returning players and possibly the coaches, too.

The fanbase must be outta their minds right now.
 
Brilliant strategy used by UMBC this second half is rolling the ball on inbounds passes after UVA scores while the clock is running so they basically get more than 30 seconds to burn per possession.

EDIT: Well that and making every shot.
 
I didn't trust UVA and it pushed me to picking Arizona to go on a run. Changed my damn bracket on the last morning from having Cincinnati in the Final Four. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
 
I told you all that UVA wasn't anything to bank on. This is good for college basketball. Bennett's style of getting these sub-par athletes to win on gritty defense and just enough offense is horrible to watch, and they are my most disliked team in the sport the last few years.

Hate, hate, hate their style. Biggest fraud in the country every year.
