Littrell is another example of why a HC should leave when his stock is high and bigger jobs are calling his agent. If you can't sustain or soon match a unicorn season (no one can), you will be fired sooner or later. The thing is, coaches are worse than fans at not recognizing a unicorn - their egos always make them think they'll be building on it to better results in the future.

There are guys that can build to great seasons.

There are guys that can sustain high performance.

The overlap in the venn diagram of those two groups is actually pretty small.

And that's true in most of life, not just football.
