2024-25 Coaching Carousel

Feels strange to sit here in December with an upcoming bowl game.

Not panicking that it’s all downhill from here as everyone leaves.

No one needs to be burnt at the stake.

No major coaching carousel for a new (****ty) HC

Our best players aren’t fleeing like cockroaches.

We aren’t hoping our best player gets an UDFA offer.

We aren’t discussing whether stars matter.

Don’t need to discuss whether winning or recruiting comes first.

Not praying our one passable coach stays with us rather than being swooped by some mid ass team.

No mid ass teams doing drive bys about how they (Michigan State) are elite and we are small time and need to just accept getting reamed

Not wondering if we finally drop to G5/FCS

No in-conference blue blood stealing our talent

All seems well. I gotta say it’s pretty nice being a Buffs fan watching the despair of all these other teams.

Hope everyone understands just how painful the surprise cosmic nut punch will be. Judgment will be swift. It’s gonna hurt pretty ****ing bad too

Coaches generally DGAF about location quality of life. They're rich, super busy and travel a bunch. I think the only time it really enters the equation is wife/kids.
I think he’s referring to Arkansas outside of NWA (which is as amazing as it gets). Rest of the state is a dump…but you’d never know if you were the HC in Fayetteville .

Arkansas is a sleeping giant, why can nobody get that thing rolling?
Massive boosters, even Jerry Jones
Crazy how they suck
Frank Broyles had three teams that made noise on the national stage in the mid to late 60's, the Holtz coached squad of 1979 was picked to win it all by SI, but finished 10-2, beating OU in the Orange Bowl, Hatfield had a couple of conference winning seasons in the old SWC in the 80's and made some noise nationally, but they have been a middling team for the last 30 years despite having a top 5 AD budget in addition to all the advantages you name.

Wow. Dimel only got fired at UTEP year before last. They were trending up for a while with him....but, the "UTEP" factor gets to everyone (except Don Haskins, who was friends with my granddad BTW).

I remember DD getting the Wyoming job inna day after the Cowboys were a stepping stone job for some good coaches.....and DD's Wyo team almost beating Rick at Folsom, really low scoring ugly game. I think we get a TO late to win or something. 10-6 or something. Kinda the first sign that things maybe weren't all right with Rickster at CU. For me, at least.

DD was a part the Snyder colossal turnaround as assistant at KSU. That must of been quite a ride and a lot of hard work. Respect.

Too bad, RIP Dana.

Uhh, UTEP basketball >>> UTEP football. Same for NMSU.

I honestly didn’t know butler had a football team

The Pioneer Football League. One of the dumbest conference in the country, my Toreros are in it when they really should just kill the moneypit that is non scholarship FCS football and invest the money in other sports they can be good at. PFL and the Ivy League are non-scholarship, but the Ivy league actually makes sense.

Could be a smokescreen to a coach they really want or setting their fans up for massive disappointment.

Again Riley left OU because he didn't want to play ball in the SEC. He might be having similar feelings in the Big Ten and perhaps the Big 12 or ACC is better for him.

There are seven years left on Riley's contract that is about $10M per year. What USC owes would be the offset of what UCF is willing to pay Riley. Also keep in mind that UCF hasn't gotten a full Big 12 check just yet so they certainly would have the money to afford Riley in that case.

I have no inside sources, but sitting on the OSU bench side of Folsom during the CU game led me to believe there is something very wrong in Stoolwater. If they keep HC Hairdoo, I expect any elite talent to hit the portal, as well as decent talent. OSU will likely be a lower third B12 team. They need to start over, something is very wrong there.

Gundy is a full blown racist (seriously) and he hates the NIL era of CFB and refuses to adapt. I also think OU leaving the Big 12 was a big shot to that entire program.
