I think his ego will demand one more NFL gig to get those 15 wins and pass Shula on the all-time list.I think it will be entertaining. I also he is going to get sick of coaching college really quickly.
I'm watching it closely. If it works, there's going to be a copycat trend of hiring a program CEO like BB will be, a football GM underneath him (part of plan), and then an Associate HC (his son in this case) to handle many of the normal HC duties.
That could be a path for Coach Prime to run things at CU beyond the time he's planning to coach.
Wasn’t UNLV pretty good this year? Why would they be looking to make a change?

Me too. I think because he's been a HC going back 15 years and was a prominent Coordinator at UF for several years before that. Weird thing to me is that I can't remember thinking of him as a young hotshot coach when he clearly was. Maybe because I'm about his age so when he was young for the jobs he was getting it didn't seem so to me.Why did I think Mullen was way older than 52?

Air Force did close the year with four straight wins.Don't forget Air Force. I know they bombed this season but they have a large athletic budget compared to UNLV and the big reason UNLV didn't go to the Pac-12 was the AD deficit. Good time to buy stock in Air Force football I think.
Calhoun's a heck of a coach.Air Force did close the year with four straight wins.
He's looked like a 60+ year old who makes the mistake of not having a professional color his hair for well over a decade.Troy Calhoun is only 58?
He is an experienced executive. He knows BB. He fits the model BB wants for the NFL funnel. He knows player personnel and player development. He will use these skills to prioritize NIL and the roster. There are others like this already in CFB. I think it’s a good hire for this new adventure, yes. .
He and BB know personnel and player development with guys who are physically mature and have high level college tape. Evaluating and projecting 16-18 year olds, along with 18-22 year olds who probably don’t have a ton of tape is not something either have ever done. It’s very fair to question whether either will actually know what they are doing. He is an experienced executive. He knows BB. He fits the model BB wants for the NFL funnel. Lombardi was in New England 2014-2016, the 3 draft classes for the Patriots in those seasons combined for 2 Pro Bowl appearances. He's pretty good at media though, so he has a public perception that far outweighs his actual impact. He and BB know personnel and player development with guys who are physically mature and have high level college tape. surprising anyone would hire him considering they have photo evidence of him assaulting #25.

It’s very fair to question it. I too wonder. He and BB know personnel and player development with guys who are physically mature and have high level college tape. He indeed is good at media. And he may well indeed fail. Gonna be interesting to see who he hires under his GM role and how he structures his organization and structures talent acquisition/development.Lombardi was in New England 2014-2016, the 3 draft classes for the Patriots in those seasons combined for 2 Pro Bowl appearances. I understand what you’re saying about disruption but it is Bill Belichick. It’s very fair to question it. I too wonder.
I’m anxious to see his staff. And who Lombardi builds under him for talent acquisition.
I don’t care about his GF, his age, whatever.
I applaud UNC’s attempt to be disruptive and use a new model in a changing environment.
It may very well fail. Whatever happens, I’m here for every minute of it.
I think he's good with younger people. For everyone who thinks that a college has become a mini NFL, UNC will be a good case study to see if or to what extent they are right.
I think Belichick's approach and pitch will be similar to Prime "follow our lead and we can get you to the NFL, we know what they're looking for, we know a bunch of people there and we know **** works there, we are living examples of what greatness in that league looks like". I think Prime, obviously, is more charismatic and probably vibes better with HS kids and can relate to them better, but Belichick is a better coach (obviously). My main concern with him would be if a) he can keep it simple enough so 18-19 year olds understand it and b) if he can find a way to relate to them and if he can adapt his leadership style so kids will follow him.
But I think it is very interesting to see a high profile name go from the NFL to college in this day and age as the trend is going in the other direction.
