2024 Fall Camp Thread

If we struggle on the OL this season will look like last. Have to scheme around a bad or weak OL
We only had 3 of 5 Game 1 starters on OL1 last night. Also consider that this is the group running with the 2s on DL: Hayes, Walker, Buell, McNeil, and McCoy. Not exactly a bunch of bums.

I know we're all shell shocked from last year, but everybody needs to chill the fvck out.

The same DP that still employs Mark Kiszla who, in 1998, was covering the Rockies for the DP and did an illegal search of Dante Bichette's locker to see if he could find PEDs and lost his credentials from the Baseball Writers of America as a result?

Hack journalism to create controversy is encouraged, not frowned upon, by that rag.
I don't disagree with anything you said. Hack journalism is still there and everywhere. I sort of remember that baseball thing with Kiszla, and that was awful. How he is still at DP or in what capacity I don't really know. I don't think Kiz makes the big bucks that he used to. I do know that the media money has dried up across the board with everything going digital, and it is just more competitive than ever. I am amazed that newspapers and tv media, even if online is so very thin these days. Our local Colorado Hometown Weekly is now digital. Less jobs, less money and less stability.
The Post will keep him on as long as he is cheap. Sports is a circulation driver and newspapers are no longer what people go to for their sports news and commentary. That has been taken over by the focused websites (like this one) and by sportstalk radio.

Interesting though that both the websites and the radio programs have a lot of space to fill and rely on talking to other media members to fill a lot of that space. In some cases they are paid but very often they do it for free to drive viewers to their platforms.

It says a lot about his standing in the business that Keeler is almost never someone they turn to when they want opinion and content. This video is not an outlier, not only do the coaches act like he doesn't exist, he gets a lot of that from his fellow media members.

Who was the 2nd starter out (besides Benson)? Seaton, Zilinkas, Mayers, and Brown were all playing with the 1s

Couple of things of note:
- Love Charlie and it won't surprise me one bit if he starts against NDSU. But he'll be 4th string by halftime.
- Fully expect as many as 12 DL players to see significant time every game
- Our top 6 DEs are good. Like REALLY good
- Horn and Hayden are my picks to have breakout seasons
- 2 plays that give you a good sense of our LBs - Watch Bentley at 17:03 and Woods at 17:20. WTF?

I’m not really sure what you can take from those two plays w/r/t Woods and Bentley. Yiu mostly need the endzone view to truly see what’s going on with the front seven

Just got a chance to watch. Not sure if it's the way the video is edited? But sure looks heavy on pass, light on run.

I take those as similar examples of what I’ve already seen. Getting manhandled by Yakiri Walker (woods) and reluctance to attack on a run play only to hover around a pile (Bentley) is troubling.

That would be concerning since in my Big 12 Preview, I did post numbers showing that teams in the Big 12 ran the ball more than in the Pac-12. There are legit RBs in the B12 that CU will be facing such as OSU, TT, KU, and KSU. That is not mentioning Utah who usually plays a physical game.

Johnson and Benson. I believe if everything broke perfectly for Loadholt, the 5 he'd put out there would be Benson, Brown, Johnson, Zilinkas, and Meyers
Understood. The most current published depth chart had Johnson running 2nd string so I thought he was supposed to play with that group

Yeah I haven’t seen anyone suggest Seaton has been getting beat that badly, just that he’s not yet an elite LT and there will be some growing pains as he adjusts. Proctor was not very good at all for Bama last year until around mid season. Also, this isn’t the SEC and I think Seaton adjusts quicker
