I don't think Carter Smith fits what CP wants as a QB. Great dual threat QB with a little suspicious throwing capability.

If we finish as a 9 or 10 win team, even as an 8 win team, I’m not at all worried about getting an incoming QB. Just with what Shedeur has been, I think we’ll find someone solid no matter what. Portal or 5star or both.

All of this is assuming Prime stays.

I don’t know what Washington’s QB situation is like next year, but if Fafita transfers it should be to reunite with Fisch. That’s what should have happened from the beginning for both him and TMac, tbh.

5 Star guys are all locked up currently. It would be interesting to look at a recent Georgia, Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Tenn for the loser of one of those QB battles. Possibly Gunner from Georgia transfers out if Beck comes back for another year. I'm assuming these 3 INT games are hurting his draft stock. Tenn you pretty much have to transfer out with how well the current QB is playing unless you want to wait until he goes pro.

We don't need a super high profile P5 QB or a 5-star kid. I'd be fine doing what Indiana and a few others did, which is find an experienced starting QB who is ready to be a very solid leader immediately. Much prefer that over just about any 5-star freshman who will most likely would need until year 3 to achieve the same production. We can choose from AAA rather than from the high school ranks.
