Adams promoted to Co-OC, Chiaverini to call plays

I'm ok with Chev now being the OC/playcaller. It's the logical next step for him and it's what it took to keep him. As for Adams, this seems like a bump in title with probably not many additional responsibilities. Instead of being the Assistant to the Regional Manager he is now the Assistant Regional Manager. Not a big deal.

I'm far more concerned what we do with the other positions. We need new DL, TE, and QB coaches who can RECRUIT! If Mac whiffs on those, then we're fooked.

If?

one thing is clear mac is very loyal to his troops...this can be a positive but being resistent to change and challenges from his troops isnt always good

That's not all Klayton Adams-Charles Clark was listed as the primary recruiter on Grant Polley......the only two he got were Heston Paige and Jake Moretti (both of whom are from Denver-so that's really not that impressive.)

Flipping a 4* OL from OSU isn't that impressive.

You have somewhat unrealistic standards.

If we are serious about incorporating more air raid, the first call for QB coach should be someone from the Hal Mumme / Mike Leach tree. The other option would be to give Chev the QB's and go get another WR coach. It isn't uncommon for coaches to move between positions, Mike Leach coached OL, WR, and QB's.

@ahoelsken Charles Clark was not the primary recruiter on Sherman or Roddick, and he did not have more influence on Polley than Adams. Stop creating a narrative that doesn’t exist because you didn’t like the way this patchwork OL pass protected in 2017.

I'm just telling you what I saw on rivals when I looked today TSchek.

I’m a little surprised at all the negativity in this thread. I admit, I’m a little apprehensive. But I seem to recall a ton of Chev love when he was hired and all of last year. I recall posts speculating he’d eventually be the HC. So is all the negativity going to last all the way to next September? Man, I hope not.

FOLKS, Hal Mumme himself is available right now to coach QB's and the Air Raid Offense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I could like this post more than once. AHoelsken beating his dead horse. Again.

just got done rewatching the ucla, wash st, az st, and utah games how do you think i feel?

Chev = Air Raid? Look for ball to be thrown 50-60 times a game.
There is little to suggest that Chev will implement a pure air raid offense. In 2014 he was the special teams coach at Texas Tech. In 2015 he was the special teams/outside WR coach at TT. One year coaching air raid receivers. One. The rest of his coaching and playing career was in something other than an air raid scheme.

Assuming we hire a QB coach who can get some more consistency out of Montez, I think we throw it a bit more than we run it simply because WR looks to be a team strength and RB looks to be thin, but I don't think Chev or MM have any desire to throw the ball 50 to 60 times a game.

Adams getting promoted s a sign of weak leadership, loyalty, inability to recruit coaches. And just silly.

Chiv promotion is questionable.

Adams promotion is a sign of a bad HC.

Adams has coached RBs, TEs, and the OL under HCMM at SJSU and CU. Let's say he has a good understanding of how the running game would work in this case. Maybe that will lead to a better running game.

Lindgren really had to go due to the scoring output under HCMM while at CU which wasn't that good and that change would have occurred at any school if they were next to last in the conference in every season except one magical season.

I believe the new QB coach that CU is going to hire is going to be very telling where the Buffs will go offensively.
Mochetti as QB Coach if Chiv gets his way.

Anyone wanting pure Air Raid is absolutely crazy.

There is a lot of concern over the experience of DC and KA as OC's and there is an opportunity to hire one of the true College Football Offensive Innovators of our time and to take all of his knowledge and experience and to teach these young guys, and that is a crazy idea? Instead, let them come up with some of their own random ideas and let's see what happens? Good thing it does not work at Oklahoma, Penn State, West Virginia, Washington State, etc...

Come on man. People start somewhere, MM is with them everyday and I’m sure he thinks they’re ready for the prime time? I get people being hesitant though, it’s CU. With our luck, they’ll fail miserably.
