Bowl Games (other than ours) and associated silliness 2024 Plus the Playoffs

I am surprised at the number of people thinking we’d beat Notre Dame. They would be the best defense we would have faced all year and have the running game to dominate us like Kansas and Kansas State did. We could maybe be competitive but I don’t think we win it.

People have been running their mouths here a lot lately.

I said we'd score more than three points, assholes.

Bama >>> Indiana. Everybody knew it. :)
Indiana could still literally give Bama a game because Bama has lost to.lesser teams than IU, and that's coming from someone who thought IU had no business in this playoff.

But Bama REALLY had no business being here, regardless of talent level.

Depends on what you want. I want best 12 teams. Others want regional and conference representation, with a chance or two for the little guys and Cins. I respect that. Just not for me.
12 best is subjective though...even with analytics.

You lost 3 games, two to 6-6 teams, including a 3 TD loss to a bad Oklahoma team.

There's zero argument to be made for Bama getting in this year.

Same for Ole Miss. Don't lose to average teams. It's not a hard concept 🤷

CU at their best this year is a fringe Top 12 Program. Depending on the matchup they'd also lose to Fringe Top 25 programs like KSU. It would be interesting to see if we played an Indiana now after figuring a few things out in the first 3 weeks. Keep in mind they smoked Nebraska.

It's not Beck and I am not sure that hurts UGA.
Stockton did enough for them to beat UT, but I can't trust UGA.

Notre Dame looked really good-I hadn't sat down and watched them since the loss to NIU, and there's been a ton of growth there. I think we can safely say that Indiana is an overrated team that feast on the dreck of the Big 10 (best win was over 7-5 Michigan).

Last night was a commentary on the Big 10. I know they wound up with like 11 bowl eligible teams, but they had 6 win 8 games or more. To compare, half the Big 12 finished with 8 wins or better. I'd contend Oregon being able to do what they did in year one in that conference is a sign of that league's weakness.

SMU is really good. Jennings is a freaky athlete. I think they'll hang with Penn State, and I think Tennessee beats Ohio State.

I don't think Indiana is overrated at all. There's a difference in the big guys which is tough to overcome between the top tier programs and everyone else. A cold weather game like that exacerbates things. Situation was tailor made for the Irish to lean into their advantages while making it a lot harder for Indiana to execute the things that made them great this year.

I think Indiana goes 5-4 in the Big 12.

Herbstreit is a POS
Indiana deserved to be there and was not able to step up because they are 1 year into a build that Notre Dame has been doing for many years.
KH was a nobody player on average Buckeye teams

Ohio State and their fans might want to beat Michigan at least once in past four years before talking about who does or doesn't deserve recognition.

Not my impression at all. Herbstreit seems to me like a very kind, loyal and positive person who is also not that bright and is easily influenced.

ESPN pays him handsomely and the B1G is the competition.

What is the purpose of belittling Indiana? They had a great season and will learn from last night. Iron sharpens iron

Watched the game yesterday waiting for this again. Didn’t happen.

"Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Missouri are all clearly better than every non-SEC team in the tournament other than Oregon, Penn State, Ohio State and Notre Dame."

Normal reaction from schools that have been "haves" when a progam comes up and exceeds what they have normally been.

tOSU, Mich, and Penn State, along with occassionaly Wisconsin and Iowa have had their way with the B1G for the last few decades. The response shows that at least on some level they are afraid that somebody else is going to rise up and knock them down a peg from where they think they have a right to be just because they are them.

They would much rather have schools like Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, etc. be an easy win they can plug into their records when comparing against the traditional powers from other conferences that are padding their records with bottom feeders. They don't want to be sitting at home like Bama is after losing to Vandy and a bad Oklahoma team.
