HCP needs to get better at this coaching thing.
What he tells tv or radio and what he tells his team are completely different things.

Yeah I don’t see a reason to provide public material for BYU to use by saying they are looking for “revenge”, which is stupid anyways, would they not play as hard or try to win as badly if they didn’t lose to BYU last year?

Pretty good analysis here.
BYU Defense and running game is very good.

Kaidon Salter holds onto the ball longer than any other QB in the game according to them. Although I wonder if that's because he is improvising and moving around.

Unless the release time is only analyzing unpressured pass plays, it's a bunk stat.

To put it in NFL terms, if Lamar Jackson isn't extending pass plays more than Joe Flacco then he's doing it wrong.

2-2, and this one can make or break us.

beat a ranked physical opponent and we are still in the mix for the conference. lose and oh ****.

Well that's not great
Maybe it forces us to play more zone. Let's hope. If it works, coaches don't change successful habits easily and it could be the thing that puts our defense on a better trajectory the rest of the season as talent gets healthy or develops.

I hope we get the ball first. Need to rest the defense as much as possible while forcing BYU to play from behind in the 2nd half. And if we play coverages that go against scouted tendencies, maybe it gets us an early turnover.

Ugh - no good vibes about this one. Feel like it’s going to be 1 of 3 things, 2 of which are bad: tight CU win, tight BYU win, big BYU win.
With the terrible injury report for CU, I now expect a fairly easy win for BYU. I have doubts now about the new S&C coach.

Normally these are solid reads but this one came off as a bit misinformed.

1. Simeon Price not Simeon Rice
2. Byard was hurt coming into the season so they didn’t want to risk extending injury by throwing him out there for full games
3. Hayden was also hurt and will be finally full go for this game so I wouldn’t call him “peacing out”
4. Unless we have nobody left to run the ball, we shouldn’t ever be throwing 45 passes a game with Salter at QB. We have Welch and Hayden, and they are likely going to have Dre’Lon, Mikell, or Hardge step in for this game to cover depth. We can run the ball just fine with those guys with the way our line has been blocking.

The outcome of the game will depend heavily on the match up between the BYU rushing offense and CU’s rush defense. On paper this is terrible opponent for CU, matching their strength against our weakness. Hope I’m wrong of course, but I don’t see this game as competitive based on what I’ve seen so far during the season. CU has talent so maybe the lights come on.

I think sometimes Ace says things that are tongue-in-cheek and likes to throw playful shade. I'm not Ace, btw.

Anyway, Here's the official BYU game preview. https://buffsblog.com/the-only-game-preview-you-need-colorado-vs-byu/

Think Tim Robinson GIF by NETFLIX

If we have over 75 yards rushing yards outside of Salter this week, I'll be very surprised.

That has to be a mind **** game? If we are truly down those players then we are screwed.
and I am truly disappointed in this guru strength coach

I thought we had a pretty good offseason program and a very good training staff. This is fvkking ridiculous.

They're missing one potential starter in RJ Johnson. I guess potentially two if you include Vickers. Do you know what each injury is and why it would be blamed on the S&C staff? Soft tissue strains/pulls, sure. Bone/ligament issues, no. Kind of a weird crash out from you too
