Wait so when you moved to the PAC you got more donations from states with PAC teams and lower donations from states with B12 teams?

Funny how that works. Not trying to be rude but the word that comes to my head is "Duh"

Am I missing something? Someone else covered the national economy.

I think you're missing the point that alumnus from the B12 states are cheap ass sumbitches who'd rather waste their cash on cheap bud lights at Ethel's Down-The-Road Bar than support their Alma Mater.

Creative and forward thinking?
That sounds ominous.

Would not be surprised if it's on Apple and there's a minimum payout somewhere around 25 million but payouts increase IF subscribers increase over certain thresholds.
Have a certain amount of subscribers and payout goes up to 30 million, increase another % and its 35 million. Somewhere along these lines. Guaranteed $ will be below BIG12 but the dangling carrot out there to entice schools.

Is there something about Apple that you want to tell us? You seem to have really strong feelings about that network.
I strongly believe that unless you are a fanatic of one of PAC teams,
you won't be paying for a subscription for PAC content.

Out of site, out of mind. Is the PAC a conference if hardly anybody watches it?

Run the math on what was gained vs what was lost.

here are some guesses:

ESPN has some kind of an option right to broadcast a certain number of games, selected near the week of.... think of a discretionary flex scheduling deal. maybe a max number of games, and certain start times, etc. if they exercise the option to televise, then they pay some amount of money per game. this may also be how the league finds a way to give more $$ to the teams optioned.

everything gets carried on apple. every team and every game. this includes the flexed out ESPN games.

apple retires the outstanding debts and such and takes over the network stuff.

5y year deal, no outs, with a 5 year GoR.

37mm a team, with escalators., bonuses, and such on top of that.

that's my prediction.

Thanks. That's good to see, but is only four years out from when we joined; as I said, I recall we got a bump (better than I remembered though). I'm much more curious about if we've sustained that bump.

The more recent endowment report is nice, but any university with any kind of financial responsibility should be growing the endowment (and ours is still pretty woefully small for a university our size).
